Rakhi Retreat is nestled at the end of a cul de sac and backs onto Lakewood Reserve, a 10 Ha paperbark wetland forest.
The house has been beautifully finished with local ironwood timbers and bamboo floors and the passive cooling design provides a naturally cool space although there is the option to air condition if you need. The bedrooms have comfortable beds and built in wardrobes.
The large kitchen is perfect to cater for small and large groups and the open living space is ideal to make yourself at home and enjoy the sounds and views of the surrounding bush.
Rakhi retreat been designed for a number of different uses. Couples or families can stay and enjoy the exclusive 5 acre property with plenty of adventures for children of all ages to, including a tree house, short walks and canoeing in the wet season.
Birdwatchers can use it as comfortable base while visiting the various local bird watching sites or settle into the bird hide built from paperbark logs on the property and enjoying the local avian inhabitants going about their daily business. Over 80 species of birds have been observed at Rakhi over the past few years.
The location makes the perfect base to visit numerous local attractions including Fogg Dam birdwatching and nature walks, Adelaide River Jumping Crocodiles, local fishing spots or within one hour drive to either Litchfield or Kakadu National Parks.
