GOLDEN SANDS RESORT AT WAGAIT BEACH
Golden Sands Resort is back ...... for you and your family to rediscover. Or, if you have never been, make sure you visit soon and create your own special memories with your family and friends in this Territory tropical paradise.
Kick back, relax in our plunge pool or on a sun lounge, read on our day bed, walk an isolated beach, fish, play pool or one of our many board games. Golden Sands is perfect for re-connecting with yourself, family & friends in nature's paradise.
The Golden Sands Resort was an iconic holiday retreat during the 60’s, 70’s & 80’ enjoyed by Darwin locals. Whether you have camped or stayed in the “relative luxury” of the cabins many have enjoyed this beautiful beachside property in the past. If you stayed here as a kid, now you can bring your own children to discover the delights & serenity of Wagait Beach and the Cox Peninsula.
Just a 1 ½ hour drive from Darwin or catch the ferry across in 15 minutes from Cullen Bay / Larrakeyah, the Golden Sands main house has been completely renovated, retaining it’s territory style and charm.
Over two stories, with 4 double bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, two kitchens and two living areas this stunning property is so peaceful and relaxing you will never want to leave. The upstairs Master suite is enormous with a beautiful ensuite plus walk in robe and a tranquil view through the tree tops to the beach. The open plan living area is spacious with rich timber flooring, a gourmet kitchen and bifold doors open to the huge balcony setting with views of our beach.
Downstairs we again have two bedrooms with a shared ensuite, another kitchen, open plan living area with original slate floors, a pool table plus a large laundry/utility room. Another outdoor living area overlooks the coastal reserve to the beach.
We have saved a couple of the original cabins which are renovated and have a rustic outdoor kitchen. These cabins are likely what you will remember, but now you can relive your Golden Sands memories in absolute style in the main house. The pool has been replaced in a more intimate garden setting, with safety fencing. The entire 1 acre block is fully fenced, safe for your children and your dogs. Yes, we are certainly dog friendly.
Please Note: The house and cabins will not be rented separately. At times the cabins may be occupied by the property owner &/or Caretaker.
