One of the original residences, this is a house that has been lovingly restored and outfitted for comfort and charm with polished floors and high ceilings and all the best of the Queenslander style.

This quiet house sits in a small, private, well-contained garden flanked by hedges on a leafy street lined with jacaranda and flame trees and close to the racecourses.

A short distance away is iconic Racecourse Road and all it has to offer, the Cruise Terminal and Portside precinct are also ten minutes away. There are local boutique cafes and restaurants within five minutes of the front door, local shops for the things that you need and a well equipped park to entertain and relax.

The interior of the house boasts a generous lounge and audio visual equipment, including a large smart screen TV, sound system and unlimited high speed broadband, Netflix and access to apple TV.

The restored kitchen is light and airy with honey coloured floors, stone bench tops, quality appliances and beautiful bi-fold doors that open to a back deck set up for lounging and entertaining. The house is heated and air conditioned and has plenty of comfy spots to read and work and features some of the collected artwork and objects of the owner.

The master bedroom has a generous queen bed, down filled doona and high ceilings and its own quiet air-conditioning . The second bedroom is set out in the same style but with two king single beds and a trundle bed for that extra unexpected guest.

If you love a bath, the bathroom features the restored, original claw-foot bath and a generous shower Enjoy these amenities in the light, cheery and airy bathroom.

If you are a long or medium stay guest the house is serviced on a weekly basis or otherwise by arrangement, with a charge for extra servicing.

If you need to get somewhere or just explore, the cottage is only ten minutes from the Airport, close to the major highway that runs up and down the coast and five minutes from the Brisbane tunnel system. Shipstone is also 20 minutes from the CBD and a short walk to buses and trains. All this makes Shipstone cottage the ideal place to be when you are in Brisbane. There is off-street parking for two cars with street parking easily available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Property Great place to stay. We had a trade show at the Doomben Racecourse and was perfectly positioned to walk to this venue and close to the airport. Nick meet us and went through everything with us, which was great. Would recommend this place to anyone and would definitely stay here again. Short Uber ride to great restaurants, the river, if you don't have a car. Can't fault this place, was just exactly what we needed. Thanks again Nick for a lovely place to stay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect house - just loved it! We loved the house! Beautifully renovated, blending the period features with all the mod cons. Great outdoor balcony set up for entertaining and close to everything we needed. Location was perfect. Close to Hamilton shops, cafes and a great Thai restaurant at the end of the street. Nick looked after us and we couldn't have wanted for a more perfect house for our family stay. We will definitely be back.
