In the main bedroom is a queen bed, reverse cycle air conditioning, ceiling fan, built in robe and access to the stylish bathroom which has a walk in shower and separate bath. There is also a queen bed in the second bedroom, ceiling fan, reverse cycle air condtioning and free standing robe. In the third bedroom you will find two single beds, built in robe, ceiling fan and reverse cycle air conditioning. In the open plan kitchen you will have everything that you need to cook and entertain including a gas cooktop, ample cupboard space and dishwasher. There is a comfy leather lounge, dining seating for six, HD TV, DVD Player, reverse cycle air conditioning and Bi Fold doors in the living area that open up to the spacious back deck. Here you will find an outdoor seating for six to enjoy the serene outdoors and BBQ is provided. A powder room is located off the living area. Wi fi is provided with free local phone calls. At the top of Heal Street you will find a Convenience Store, Cinema, chemist, Hairdresser, Cafes and an assortment of restaurants. Only 1klm to Merthyr Village is the Coles Supermarket, Newsagent, Boutiques and again a wide variety of cafes and restaurants
The inner-northern village of New Farm has long been a place to connect with others. Relax in the beautifully shaded surrounds of New Farm Park, where picnickers seem almost permanently perched on deck chairs and checked rugs.
The historic Brisbane Powerhouse, situated right next to New Farm Park, is also a must-see, playing host to live arts, weekend farmers markets and moonlight cinema (seasonal).
By Ferry At the river end of Brunswick Street a small cross-river ferry, operated by Brisbane Transport links New Farm with Norman Park. New Farm can also be accessed via two CityCat stops (operated by Brisbane Transport) - at Sydney Street and at New Farm Park.
By Bus The suburb is serviced by several bus routes to and from the city centre.

My family and I (2 adults and 1 child) stayed in Jacaranda Cottage for several months and in that time grew to very much think of the place as home. The house is very nicely and comfortably furnished with plenty of room for several couple or a family. The bedrooms particularly comfortable with plenty of storage space and the beds are very good quality. The bathroom is gorgeous and has a perfect bath for a soak or a child to splash happily in. The kitchen is well equipped with a good assortment of kitchen gadgets and overlooks the open plane dining and lounge area which creates a lovely open feeling in this area. This is complimented by a stunning back verandah that is perfect for an afternoon BBQ (the BBQ provided is amazing!), laze or play about. Otherwise this house has everything you would need for a short or long stay with laundry facilities, storage space and comfort. The location is good, in a quiet street, very close to public transport and is close to a 24hr convenience store. It is just a minute drive, or a 10-15minute walk, to James St or Merthyr Village with the Gasworks Precinct and Fortitude Valley a short drive away. Our host Brigette was great, flexible, accommodating and understanding. She was readily available and responsive. I would highly recommend Jacaranda Cottage to anyone looking for a short or long term stay.
