Brand new, funky, architect designed, 2 bedroom, city fringe pad with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Brilliantly located in a historical pocket of Woolloongabba surrounded by traditional Queensland homes. Relax on your own deck amidst tropical gardens. Walk to local shops, cafes, restaurants, South Bank, Brisbane City and excellent public transport links.

Affectionately known as the Lego house, this amazing space is made out of 6 shipping containers which have been expertly modified to create a compact, yet wonderful home. There are large glass sliding doors leading from the living areas to a private deck with BBQ and furniture for relaxing in the tropically landscaped garden.

This is a brand new property and as such hasn't yet got any reviews. To get an idea of the sort of experience to expect as one of our guests have a look at our other Stayz property Green Pavilion in Currumbin Valley. Also a lovely spot if you fancy some rest and relaxation, whether on the beach or in the hammock on the deck watching kangaroos browse, just over an hour south of Lego house.

Make yourselves at home...

Lego house is a stand alone, fully self contained unit built at the end of the garden of 24 Heaslop Street. Access is from Merton Road and Lego house, it's deck and landscaped, courtyard garden are all for the exclusive use of Lego house guests.

Accommodation consists of the main bedroom king size bed or 2 king single beds and bathroom upstairs and second bedroom queen size bed and living areas downstairs. For our guests comfort there are ceiling fans in the bedrooms and living areas as well as air conditioning upstairs and down.

Lego House is furnished with everything you might need for a comfortable stay, a true home away from home. It is also as 'green' as can be, with non-toxic finishes wherever possible, we supply natural skincare products, recycled toilet rolls and tissues and only clean with non-chemical cleaners.

We are child friendly too and can provide a portacot BYO linen and high chair on request. There are also a few toys, games, books and DVDs to help keep our younger guests occupied.

Finally, there's a single lock up garage with automatic door, a godsend in an area with metered parking. Having said that, Lego house is so central and handy for local amenities and transport you don't really need a car. The Brisbane Airport to Gold Coast train line stops at nearby Park Road station and the Mater Hill bus station is a short walk.

Lego House is strictly a 'No Smoking' and 'No Party' of any size, shape or form house. It's situated in a residential area and as such we expect our guests to be considerate of our neighbours.

Historical, central and convenient neighbourhood...

Known locally as Woolloongabba Hill our neighbourhood is full of character with beautiful old Queenslander homes and some of Brisbane's oldest churches.

Just about everything you might need is within a 5 to 10 minute walk including a Coles Supermarket, Post Office, bottle shop, pharmacy, 24 hour gyms, lots of bicycle shops some with coffee, cafes, bars and restaurants. Many of which are housed in lovely old buildings in the Woollongabba Precinct an eclectic up and coming area and the more established Logan Road Dining Precinct.

For cricket fans the famous Gabba cricket ground is a ten minute walk.

It takes less than 10 minutes to walk to the eastern end of South Bank Parklands, the Go Between Bridge pedestrian and cycle bridge to QUT Gardens Point and Brisbane City and South Bank 3 City Cat ferry terminal for a quick trip across the river to the City or further afield.

Enjoy walking or cycling City Cycle Bike rental available from one end of South Bank to the other either under the shady arbour or along the riverside. Along the way discover all that Southbank has to offer from a beach and huge swimming pool, gardens and playgrounds to a huge selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants. You'll also find the Cinemas, ABC Studios, Griffith Consevatorium of Music, the Wheel of Brisbane, the excellent Gallery of Modern Art and Queensland Art Gallery, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, the State Library, Queensland Museum and Science Museum and the Conference and Exhibition Centre.

The University of Queensland is a 25 minute scenic walk across the Green Bridge and the Ecosciences Precinct is even closer, as is Boggo Road, the site of a Sunday morning market by the old jail.

The Mater Hospital, Mater Private Hospital and new Lady Cilento Children's Hospital are also just down the road. Princess Alexandra Hospital is only a little further.

Lego house is perfectly situated for using public transport whether it be the train, bus or City Cat ferry.

Park Road train station is a 5 minute walk for the Cleveland, Shorncliff, Ferny Grove, Beenleigh and Doomben train lines. The Airport to Gold Coast train also stops at Park Road.

Boggo Road bus station is next to Park Road for buses to the University of Queensland. You can be there in 10 to 15 minutes, door to door.

In the other direction and for buses to Brisbane City and just about anywhere is the Mater Hill bus station, a 5 to 10 minute walk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright. Cheerful. Great Location Lego house is a real surprise and THE place to stay in Brisbane. While obvious from the outside that it is crafted from shipping containers, it is so comfortable and well appointed inside. The decor is bright and cheerful, perfectly matching its design aesthetic. Located in a historic part of Brisbane, it is discreet and an easy walk to Southbank. Helen was most helpful from first contact, and we enjoyed her selection of books. Our enjoyment of the 'house made of shipping containers' will be a conversation topic for some time to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent, Amazing, Awesome Lego House was by far the best holiday rental we have ever stayed in! It was extremely clean, with top end appliances and very comfortable furnishings. There was nothing we needed that was not in Lego House, even books, DVDs and some board games which the girls loved. Helen was wonderful to deal with and I would recommend Lego House to anyone visiting Brisbane.
