My place is close to the city centre, parks, art and culture, cafes and dining. You’ll love the neighbourhood, comfy beds, ambience and central location. Walk to 'The Gabba' sports ground, cafes, bars and local boutiques. Close to buses and trains and hospitals, this quaint, quirky entire downstairs apartment is in a quiet, one-way street full of Traditional Queenslander workers cottages. My place is perfect for art lovers, couples, solo adventurers, business travellers and families.
There's an artist's sensibility in the decor, which I really hope you enjoy. There are original artworks by local artists on display throughout the space.
Although the ceilings are quite low, the open plan and big picture window make it feel spacious and bright. The beds are super comfy, the space is cosy, clean, casual, peaceful and homey.
Bedroom 1 has a super soft luxurious double bed, bedroom 2 has a comfortable queen bed and a private door to the patio and the garden. There's an optional extra single bed in the open plan living area, if you are travelling with kids.
You'll find fresh ground coffee, tea, sugar and milk waiting for you. There are brochures and maps on the table, walk to the cafes, galleries, bars and boutiques nearby. Visit the Gabba antique centre or Stones Corner strip shopping on foot. Minutes from Southbank by car or bus, it's just a 15-20 minute walk, if you are feeling energetic. For sports enthusiasts, the Gabba is just a short walk away.
Norman Creek parklands and bikeways are nearby, explore the streets and waterways on foot, or feel free to borrow the two bikes.
There's a table and chairs on your private patio out back, enjoy a quiet drink or a meal in the cool of the tropical garden.
All linen and towels are provided. Let me know if you need a cot and a high chair or anything else to make your stay more comfortable. There's an iron and ironing board, umbrellas and a first aid kit. The kitchen has a smeg oven, hotplates, a microwave, kettle, toaster and grill. There are plenty of pots & pans and utensils to make self catering easy. I've put a few herbs and spice jars there for you as well. If there's anything else you need, please just let me know, I'm always happy to help out where I can.
Come and go as you please, via your private entrance. The garden is surrounded by a high fence and completely private. You won't be disturbed, but if you have any questions, I live just upstairs, feel free to say hi.
My 2 friendly little dogs live upstairs, they sometimes may be out in the back yard or the back deck. Say hi, they are gentle and friendly and love guests.
Interaction with guests
I'm happy to meet you, show you around and answer any questions, help you with directions or advice, give you your keys and leave you in peace, to enjoy your privacy. If you need me, you can easily reach me.
Let me know if you need anything at all. I'm happy to provide a welcome basket for a DIY breakfast for a small fee, or help out with a little shopping to get you settled in. I've lived in the area for years and am happy to give you any tips.
I've tried to think of everything, but if you have any requests or suggestions to make the space more comfortable and welcoming, I'd value your feedback. I look forward to meeting you.

The busway and train station are just minutes walk away. Local buses stop on the street around the corner and connect you to everywhere. Just 2km from Southbank Parklands and 3 km from the city centre.
Other things to note
The back yard is a tiny subtropical green oasis. You will feel as though you are miles from everywhere. Enjoy a glass of wine at the table outside or just snooze in the hammock.
Kids are welcome, the built in sofa is actually a full size single bed. There's a double bed in one room and a queen in the other. It's a quiet little one way street full of renovated Queenslander workers cottages and friendly neighbors, on the fringe of inner city development and entertaining precinct. Fun to explore on foot or catch a bus or train to the city, the Bay or the Gold Coast.
