Pismo Beach includes a free return ferry pass for you to explore the Daintree and Cape Tribulation where you can enjoy the deep, dense rainforest experience, and just ask a local where the Blue Water hole is for a refreshing swim - you may even see a Cassowary. The fauna and flora is something to behold so keep your eyes open on your journey.
Just a 10-minute drive to the renowned Mossman Gorge, and when there, why not visit the new Indigenous eco tourism centre serving visitors to the Mossman Gorge World Heritage site. Mossman is a quaint country town, and the Mossman Markets on a Saturday is a must do. You can buy local arts and crafts, and fill your pantry with the delicious local produce. You must try the array of tropical fruits only grown regionally.
There are several beaches close by, so take a picnic, and for the children the beach toys, lilos, and boogie boards on offer. All beaches are open during the dry season, during the summer months you can swim in the nets that are supervised by the Queensland Surf Life Saving Clubs.
