A unique Granite Belt getaway

Retreat to your own private cottage on Mt Banca, overlooking Stanthorpe and the Granite Belt region below. Here you are assured of complete privacy and seclusion, surrounded by 33 acres of striking rocky outcrops and native forest. Downtown Stanthorpe is only two minutes away.

Eagle’s Nest Retreat is a contemporary, yet warm and inviting, two bedroom cottage available for short term stays and weekend getaways. Superbly appointed the home was built especially for couples and friends, and is available for up to four adults. If booking for one couple, or one individual, the Southern Wing is normally allocated. For two parties the Northern Wing can be accessed as well, much like interconnecting hotel suites.

The custom designed home was built to maximise the best features of the mountain site, constructed over natural granite slabs, with expansive views to the north, south and east. Full height windows and sliding doors invite you onto the to private verandah for mornings in the sun, or afternoons in the shade to watch the landscape below change from gold to purple, as the sun sets over Stanthorpe.

This is your retreat: where you can enjoy a few days in a quiet haven, perfect for adult conversation and company, where old friends can gather and couples can take some valuable time out. You can enjoy doing as little or as much as you like: sleeping in, bushwalking, bird and wildlife watching, rock scrambling, or pondering life in the Southern Downs while enjoying the region’s fine food and wine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sensational Getaway Great house. Has everything you need for your stay. The location is unique and the drive up to the house is an experience. Some reviews advise against sports cars because of the driveway, so I left mine at home. It would be fine however. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eagle's nest the best Stayed here with friends over two very cold June nights. This place is brilliant. Perched high on a granite hill it has great views over the Stanthorpe township. Lovely natural bushland setting surrounded by nothing but trees and birds so it's very private. They had even gone to the trouble of making a book that listed all of the local fauna and flora that you're likely to see around the house. I liked this attention to detail as it made it feel much more welcoming than just a hotel room. Fireplace kept us very warm. Beds we very comfortable. Bathrooms and kitchen were good also. I'd definitely stay again. Beware the steep driveway though as you will not get a low profile car over the bumps. My tip is to rise early and drag a blanket out onto the balcony to watch the sun rise over the town. Magic.
