Highland Croft cottage offers you a little bit of Scotland in the heart of the granite belt. The Clydesdale horses and Highland cattle grazing in the early morning mist will refresh your soul. The open landscape, beautiful sunrises and sunsets make for a perfect retreat.
Highland Croft cottage is on Thorndale Road which is a sealed road about 8 kilometres 12 minutes from Stanthorpe. National parks include Girraween, Bald Rock, Boonoo Boonoo and Sundown. These offer wonderful experiences, family outings, with healthy invigorating walks and picnic facilities. Bird watching and fishing in selected park areas are enjoyed by locals and tourists. The towns of Warwick and Tenterfield are well worth exploring. Both are under one hour from Highland Croft Cottage accommodation. Travelling time from Brisbane and the Gold Coast is around 3 hours, under 4 hours from Byron Bay, and around 11 hours from Sydney.
Highland Croft means a small Scottish farm - our cottage will entice you and yours to relax. You will enjoy the views, the animals, birds, really relax and go home refreshed.
The cottage offers you a fully serviced home away from home. The master bedroom has french doors, opening onto the verandah. The second bedroom has two single beds. Both rooms have cosy blankets, doonas and electric blankets. There is also a cot and high chair available as needed. Families are warmly welcomed at Highland Croft cottage accommodation.
The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare a gourmet meal, or enjoy a BBQ outside. A basket breakfast is included in the tariff, plus tea, coffee, milk and sugar.
All linen, crockery, cutlery, pots, iron, hairdryer, microwave, electric cook top, refrigerator and washing machine are included.
The lounge boasts a wonderful wood heater which is cosy and cheerful, with a fire guard. The bathroom has louvre doors which can be opened up into the lounge for a romantic soak in the tub.
Strathkelam Clydesdales and Shire horse stud on the property allows visitors to enjoy these gentle giants.
The Scottish Highland cattle are purely for our enjoyment as well as for guests. Our small fold still are likened to their ancient ancestors from the early nineteenth century, a small shaggy coated and horned animal.
