Eliza Palms, an eco-friendly property, welcomes you to the best of Orchid Beach Accommodation on beautiful Fraser Island, a World Heritage Listed paradise with its magnificent rainforests, beaches, marine life, sand dunes and freshwater lakes.
Eliza Palms has two fully self-contained family friendly units available for your lovely relaxing holiday. The three bedroom unit contains two queen beds and four single beds sleeping up to eight people. and the four bedroom unit contains two queen bedrooms, one twin bedded room and one bunk bedded room. They are not suited to children under 5 years. Both Sea Shells and Sand Dunes have beautiful tiled interiors.
Each unit has its own patio area with BBQ.
For your convenience linen is provided free of charge.
Eliza Palms eco credentials includes generating our own power via a solar system with generator backup if required, and our drinking water nicknamed "The Pure Drop" is pumped straight from the underground water table.
Both apartments have spacious lounge areas, separate dining areas and fully fitted, well equipped kitchens with full size gas cooker with oven, large fridge and separate large chest freezer. Outdoor undercover bbq and patio area for each unit.
Things to Do
Whilst visiting Eliza Palms on Fraser Island you can Whale Watch while having a picnic on the top of Waddy Point seasonal or fish off the rocks or have a swim in the calm water on the leeward side. You can drive north along the pristine beach of Marloo Bay to Ocean Lake for a fresh water swim, or drive on up to Ngakala Rocks and if the tides are suitable it is possible to drive as far as Sandy Cape, and on the way of course you are looking out for a Good Fishing gutter where you could catch a nice feed of Whiting, Dart, Bream or even a Flathead or Two and when in season the Tailor are in plentiful supply.
During your stay you may like to visit Champagne Pools 15 minutes drive or take lunch and drive down the island to Eurong and visit Lake McKenzie and Central Station then stop at Eli Creek on your way home.
Orchid Beach has one shop with basic provisions, beer on tap, takeaway food and fuel and ice.
Whether fishing is your passion, or you are just wanting to relax surrounded by the World Heritage listed Fraser Island scenery, Eliza Palms at Orchid Beach is the perfect island getaway.
If you have a small boat you may like to go to Wathumba Creek and try mud crabbing/ be sure to bring a couple of pots/ and the Flathead fishing is good over there too as is Bream and Whiting.
We have fresh water swimming in Ocean Lake and Orange Creek, both of which are just a short drive up the beach. Orange Creek leaves your skin feeling great as it contains Teatree oil in it from the leaves.
Lake Allum is also a fresh water lake that is inland, just before the Maheno Wreck as you drive south towards Eli creek. It has its tropical rainforest to drive through before arriving at the lake.
