SOME PAST & PRESENT INFORMATION
European settlement began in the 1870s as the point where logs would be floated to the timber mills at Maryborough. Tin Can Bay later became, and still remains, an important fishing port, with a focus on prawns as well as recreational fishing.
Try your hand at feeding the Australian Humpback Dolphins, or a round of golf on the 18 hole golf course. Fishing is a must either from beach or Deep Sea Fishing Charter, you could even hire a Barbie Boat and cruise the sheltered waterways, while onboard cook a BBQ lunch or go swimming.
Stroll the beach at low tide and discover the amazing array of sea creatures under rocks and view a wide variety of birds.
A walkway which circumnavigates the township via the seashore is a must. Ride a bike, walk, skateboard, jog...its up to you
If you bring your own boat there is an excellent public boat ramp into Snapper Creek with boat washing facilities and ample parking.
You may even be planning a Wedding and looking for a place to stay, whether it be the Bride to Be and Her family or the Groom to be and his family - this house is big enough for 2 families.
