Waterfront Activities in Broadbeach
Broadbeach offers a long strip of sand, which is a popular spot for families, surfers, swimmers and water sport enthusiasts. The beach is patrolled and has two swimming zones, which are clearly indicated. Thanks to the gentle slope in those areas, the water is safe for children to splash about in.
In other sections, stronger waves make for good breaks, so you’ll likely see some local surfers. Kite surfing is another favourite activity in Broadbeach. If you don’t have your own gear, rent some from stands close to the waterfront.
There is plenty to do without getting in the water. Set up a game of beach volleyball or join local teams. At the end of the day, take a walk along the sand and watch the sunset.
Broadbeach Parks and Markets
The leafy town of Broadbeach is known for its many green spaces. Along the foreshore, you will find Kurrawa and Pratten Parks, which boast stunning views over the coastline and plenty of playground equipment for the kids.
There is ample room to have a picnic or barbecue, and trails criss-cross the parks, leading to scenic lookouts and quiet groves. Twice a month, on Sundays, Kurrawa Park hosts an arts and crafts market. Take some time to browse the 150+ stalls showcasing jewelry, closes and homemade goods.
To stretch your legs some more, stroll amongst the sculptures at Victoria Park as the kids play on the jungle gym. Slightly further inland, you’ll find Federation Park, with equipment suited to older children.

Wander through the centre of town and take your pick of bars or nightclubs. You could also make a reservation at one of the upscale hotel lounges for a quieter atmosphere.
If you’re feeling lucky, pay a visit to Jupiter’s Hotel and Casino, with two floors of games. The venue, which includes its own bar and club, never shuts down, so you can play and party 24 hours a day. While you’re here, take in a show or performance over a meal and drinks.
