Situated on the hilltop overlooking Currumbin Beach and Surf Club, you will enjoy magnificent views stretching all the way to Coolangatta. The beach is a three minute walk away, accessed down a leafy laneway and emerging opposite the patrolled surf beach. Sit on one of the three verandahs and enjoy the sound of the rolling surf while escaping traffic noise, as the home is in a quiet cul de sac, with neighbours either side, trees and shrubbery on the western side and of course the wonderful sea views to the east.
Currumbin Beach is known for its great beachfront cafes, boutique shops, world-class surfing spot "The Alley", excellent beach fishing and the stunning Currumbin Creek, great for paddle boarding It is a 30 minute drive north to Surfers Paradise and Gold Coast International Airport, Coolangatta is an 8 minute drive south.
The Gold Coast boasts some of Australia's best, most consistent waves and hosts many international surfing competitions. Currumbin Beach is patrolled year round by professional lifeguards. If you're a surfing novice, Currumbin is an ideal place to learn. Sign up with a surf school at The Alley the estuary of Currumbin Creek, where accredited teachers will help you to stand up on your board and catch your first wave fast. If you prefer flat water, stand-up paddle boarding on the Creek has become very popular and paddle board rental is readily available.
The house is located 500 metres 6mins walk from Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. It showcases amazing Australian wildlife: you can cuddle a koala; feed a friendly kangaroo, experience the wild lorikeet feeding, free-flight bird show and Australiana sheep shearing. Witness Aboriginal presenters perform didgeridoo and dancers shows, test your physical ability on the Adventure Park High Ropes Course, an exhilarating 80 challenge tree-tops ropes course and let the kids loose on Wild Island, the fun-filled outdoor adventure playground. The park also contains a serious aspect of its work and exhibits, and behind the scenes includes a state-of-the-art veterinary and rehabilitation hospital where thousands of sick and injured animals are brought every day.
Opposite the Wildlife Sanctuary you may visit Surf World Gold Coast which is Queensland's only surfing museum. The exhibition includes an extensive collection of surf boards highlighting the evolution of design and technology from the early 1930s to today. There's also amazing photography depicting early surf scenes, art works including surf movie posters and album covers, cinematography and other memorabilia. A 13km drive inland on the scenic Currumbin Creek Rd takes you to the natural Currumbin Rock Pools which provide a much-enjoyed cooling-off spot for Gold Coast locals.
