Your hosts, Simon & Marilyn have lived on the Gold Coast for almost 40 years and know how to create a home that gets the most out of the environment. With enjoying the gorgeous weather the Gold Coast has to offer in mind they’ve renovated this relaxed, spacious home to include four outdoor entertaining spaces. We’d love you to enjoy all of these spaces but we have to say it’s definitely not a party house.

Located at the front of the house is the front deck which takes in a view of the garden and is perfect for catching the morning sun while you have your morning cup of coffee. Just to note, some of the best coffee is available 120 metres away at Merlo in the Ferry Road Market complex.

Out the back of the house, you have total privacy with a deck that spans the width of the house. On the lower deck you have a 10 seater picnic table and on the upper deck a lounge area that can seat just as many. Flyover roofs protect each space so you can enjoy either all day long.

From either spots you can keep a keen eye on those in the pool through the glass pool fence – or just watch our inflatable swans float up and down. Forget your book, watching them is truly mesmerising The pool is salt-chlorine and the base has been painted a tropical green so that it cohabits with the palms around the edge. So please don’t be alarmed, it’s not dirty we have a pool person once a week it’s just the look we’ve gone for.

The last outdoor space is the BBQ area. Your host, Simon, designed this himself and he’s rather proud of it. It’s a bit food truck meets saloon so open up the door and cook yourself some snags on the gas cooker. There’s plenty of space to keep the chef entertained and a place to rest your drinks

Inside the house there’s the main living area which opens up to the front deck. Here, there’s a TV which is hooked up to WIFI and a Chromecast, to provide easy access to Netflix et al and an air conditioner one of many that cools down the main living area, dining and kitchen.

The large rumpus room’s French doors open up onto the back deck has one of the world’s most comfy couch. It’s perfect for a daytime nap

Off the kitchen is the dining table which fits 8 comfortably. Down the hallway each of the three bedrooms is individually air conditioned and has multiple windows to catch the breezes.

Our kitchen has everything you’ll need with gas top cooker, wok, sandwich press, rice cooker etc. etc. Although you’ve got some great restaurants and cafes close by, just 120 metres away is Ferry Road Market.

This is where the locals shop as there’s fantastic fruit & veg, gourmet deli, butcher and some of the freshest fish around. Grab a fresh juice and sushi and then take home something great to BBQ or cook in the Ilive oven. There’s also clothing boutiques, toy store, homewares, hairdresser and a great bottle shop. You really don’t need to move all that far from where you’re staying – we certainly don’t

You’ve got a pick of three bedrooms which all lead off a hallway. At the end of the hall you’ll find the master suite. Step inside into your very own sitting area which leads down a step into your bedroom area complete with a King size bed. Off the bedroom is an ensuite with toilet and shower.

The next bedroom has a Queen size bed and is marvellously bright and airy. Don’t worry though, the blinds block out the early morning sun. Our last bedroom has two King single beds. Opposite these bedrooms is the toilet which is separate to the central bathroom which has a shower and bath.

All of our bedrooms have plentiful wardrobe space and lots of wooden hangers so you can keep your clothes fresh. All of us love to have somewhere to store your suitcase so we’ve got stands for you to keep them on – better than constantly bending over and tripping over them we think

So that’s our little slice of Hampton’s style living on the Gold Coast. We really love our house and have put lots of time into creating this oasis in the middle of Southport. We hope if you choose to stay with us that you’ll treat our property as you would your own. This isn’t a party house but we want you to enjoy all that it has to offer.

Simon and Marilyn are just in the next street over and Susannah is around a few more corners so we’re on hand to help you anyway we can. We all live around here as the position is just brilliant. Close to the beach, close to wonderful shops and restaurants and there’s a Woolworths within walking distance. There’s so much to see and do in this neck of the woods but you’ve also got Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach within 10 and 15 minutes respectively.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great holiday rental The 'Hamptons' was perfect for our 2 night stay in Southport and a very central location. The covered outdoor entertaining space meant we could spend the whole time outside. The pool is a bonus too. The owners were only a phone call away if you needed them and were flexible with our check out time. I would recommend staying and would definitely stay again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great property in a fabulous spot We all really enjoyed our stay (family of 4), the house was lovely, clean and welcoming. The pool and outdoor area were fantastic after our days exploring the theme parks and Gold Coast area. We would definitely stay again.
