The picturesque beach of Ball Bay is located just 40mins north of Mackay. It is situated east of the quiet seaside holiday village of Seaforth. The Beach Shack is a 1950s style self-contained, open plan house that comfortably sleeps 6 people with 2 double beds and 2 single beds. With shaded timber decks on two sides of the house it is a relaxing place to wile away the hours. There are both indoor and shaded outdoor eating areas and a wood-fired pizza oven in the back yard. The Beach Shack is an ideal location for families with small children or couples looking to get away for a quiet & relaxing holiday.
Ball Bay offers beach and rock fishing. There is access to a small estuary from Ball Bay beach. For fishing enthusiasts boats can be launched straight off the beach or from nearby Victor Creek boat ramp at Seaforth. This boat ramp offers access to some of the most productive fishing and crabbing areas around Mackay and local islands.
The 2kms long Ball Bay beach provides important habitat for nesting marine turtles during the summer months.
CAPE HILLSBOROUGH NATIONAL PARK
Cape Hillsborough National park is any easy 10 minute drive from Ball Bay. There are various walking tracks such as the Juipera Plants Trail, the Diversity Boardwalk, the Beachcomber cover track and the Andrew Points walking track which passes 6 lookouts offering spectacular view. At low tide a causeway links the end of the track to Wedge Island.
The National Park also includes a picnic & BBQ area and a public toilet.
THE OLD STATION TEAHOUSE
The Old Station Teahouse is a 100year old railway station that was transported to Cape Hillsborough. It is located just 5 minutes away from Ball Bay and offers Devonshire Teas, coffee & lunch. It is also open on Friday nights for wood-fired pizzas.
Seaforth is an easy 10 minute drive from Ball Bay and has basic facilites which include 2 shops for essential grocery items and fuel, a bowls club with bistro food & a courtesy bus and a boat ramp providing access to the Newry Island National Park including Rabbit, Newry, Outer Newry, Acacia, Rocky & Mausoleum Islands

Halliday Bay Golf Course is a picturesque 9 hole golf course just 5 minutes from Ball Bay. This course has spectacular view of the ocean and with 27 sandtraps & waterways is sure to challenge every golfer.
