The unit is situated in the township of Kooringal, less than a minute walk to the pristine waters of Days Gutter, the only all-weather anchorage on Moreton Island. The area is home to turtles, dolphins and dugong. The island is 98 national park with miles of empty beaches, freshwater lakes, magnificent walks and drives, whale watching in season, and good fishing, squidding and crabbing. Or you can just find yourself that special spot sit back and relax. Moreton is 37km long and 10km at its widest point, making it for exploring and those special lunch locations. Mount Tempest, at 280 m high is the highest sand dune in the world. During whale season whales can easily be seen moving along the coast.
As there are no sealed roads on Moreton, you'll need a 4x4 to access the island.
Fully screened; barbecue; stereo/MP3 player; digital TV with DVD player; BBQ/Smoker - if you wish to use the smoker, you'll need to bring your own timber ; Queen size bed; 2 sets of Bunk Beds; modern cook top; fridge/freezer; full complement of cutlery, crockery and cookware; shower cubicle; solar power. There is no laundry. As the unit runs entirely on solar, you won't be able to use a blow dryer, curling wand or any appliance that generates heat, as they draw lots power.
