The island home is well located in the township of Kooringal. A short 5 minute walk will see you either at the beach or the “World Famous Gutter Bar” for some fresh seafood or enjoyable meal. The Gutter bar also stock essential items for sale in case something is forgotten or an ice cream treat for the kids. Three oyster farms located nearby to provide easy access to fresh moreton bay oysters. Island Home is perfect for a family as it provides a double bed and two adjoining bunk beds. The deck has a barbecue and table and chairs to allow you to enjoy the outdoor breeze.

The house is best suited to a couple with up to 4 children. It will sleep a maximum of 6 people. One bedroom has a double bed, which is supported by two built in double bunks. Each bedroom has a fans available.

Doonas and pillows are provided but sheets and towels are not so please make sure you bring your own.

The house operates by Solar Power so we ask guests to be mindful of power usage. Girls no hair dryers or straighteners please beware of excessive use of the microwave, especially at night when the sun is not shining to top up the batteries.

We do not currently have a washing machine, therefore the necessity for your own sheets and towels.

Moreton Island is one of our largest sand islands accessible by 4WD only. The drive along the Eastern surf beach to the Light house especially in whale watching season is well worth while. Continue over the hill to North Point, arguably one of the best beaches you will see, a mostly gentle surf break and the Champagne Rock Pools will make a great day out.

Fishing galore, the Gutter located less than 50mtrs from the house offers a safe anchorage for boats and excellent for stand up paddle boarding or snorkeling at high tide. Or simply set up for a beach bbq and relax all just a barge ride from Brisbane.

Micat barge operates daily from the Port of Brisbane to Tangalooma, bookings via the website. Alternatively, the Kooringal Trader will drop you off just outside the Kooringal township from Vic Point. Times can be advised at the time of booking.

Permits to enter the National Park must be purchased prior to arrival via the NPQWS website. Absolutely no pets allowed due to National Park restrictions.
