Your kids will love you for bringing them here. They will have the greatest, most relaxed, fun filled holiday. The house is such that they can be kids Nothing much to break. Play in the pool. Shower off outside.
As the house is not yet fully renovated, it is not pristine. You won't be worried about your kids being kids. It is in great shape, and very clean. But we'll be painting again someday, so don't worry. Don't do damage, but chill and let the kids do what their best at - being kids and having fun.
Don't let this scare you off. The house is great. Parts are beautiful. Other parts are fun. I like fun.
Best spot on the Sunshine Coast Great views both NE and SE of the ocean. Air conditioning is not needed due to the constant ocean breezes and fans if required. View the house in House Hunters International Renovations - Susan and Rick - Storm on the Sunshine Coast. You'll see us in action.
The house is two storey so stairs must be climbed. The house is ideal for between 7 and 11 people vacationing together. The main living area, bathrooms, kitchen and bedrooms are on the upper floor. Enjoy the views while barbecuing on the huge deck, right after you had a dip in the pool.
Take your glasses of wine upstairs to the upper smaller deck for a 270 degree view of Caloundra, Buderim, Mooloolaba and Maroochydore, or take the stairs down to enjoy the pool. You can view from the main deck Marrochydore, Cotton Tree all the way north to Sunrise Beach, and Old Woman Island, Mt Coolum and the hinterland.
The main deck has a table for eight to enjoy meals, the view, the breeze and watch the kids playing in the pool.
The kitchen has been extensively renovated and is a delight to use, again with ocean views over Maroochydore and Cotton Tree.
The master bedroom suite, which was renovated, has an ensuite and is separated from the other two bedrooms. Great retreat for parents after a busy day having fun in the sun The other bedrooms have a bunk bed with a double on the bottom and single on top, and a queen bed. Again, great for parents and one child.
The three bedrooms have access to the front deck with views of the ocean, Mooloolabah and Buderim to the SE and SW.
You will hear the waves crashing on the beach during the night.
The neighborhood is quiet and the house is on a "no through road".
There is a granny flat on the main floor, with one female living in it. Sharna is quiet and rarely uses the pool. Sharna smokes and reads outside below but not in view of the main deck. I have never smelled smoke on the main deck. Sharna works during weekdays. She has a separate entrance from the main foyer, and another separate entrance to the backyard and the pool. She has a ton of fiction books and is more than happy to lend some.
On the main floor is a laundry tub to rinse the kids' togs, and another access to the back yard pool.
There are 5 national parks nearby, the Australia Zoo, Noosa and Caloundra and Eumundi markets.
The beach is a 10 minute walk downhill, but about 17 minutes up hill - that is what it takes me and I am 60 years old. You arrive at the beach across from Alex Surf Club, a great place to have a bite. Mooloolabah is walkable, as is Cotton Tree. There is much to see and do on the Sunshine Coast and you are in the heart of it all.
The master bedroom, ensuite, kitchen and lounge were renovated for the reality TV show House Hunters International Renovations. The flooring is rustic distressed hardwood. The kitchen is modern, tons of bench space, and a dream to prepare food in.
More renovations need to be done in the remaining two bedrooms to the floors. But the house is wonderful, the deck is great for the view, barbecuing, eating, and relaxing.
The second bathroom has a spa tub and a shower. There is a separate toilet.
The pool is large enough for a game of volleyball or Marco Polo.
I really like the home, and you will too. The kids will really love it, with lots of room to explore. There is even a small secret room on the ground floor in the portion of the house which is not part of the granny flat.
The lounge room is comfortable to watch TV, while looking out at the view. There is a table for four to play games at next to the lounge.
The real action will be on the deck and in the pool.
