Sea Le Vie, Castaways Beach

Designed by local architect Gabriel Poole, Sea Le Vie offers ocean views and is set in a natural setting backing onto a nature reserve with a track to the beach or park right at your back door. Offering all the modern conveniences of home, numerous decks to catch the views, sea breezes and sunshine, the deck joining the pavilions has a 6 seat outdoor setting and BBQ. The home is just steps away from wide, open and sandy beaches that are family and dog friendly.

Beautifully furnished, the home offers 3 bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen, open plan lounge and dining areas, a reading nook, fully functional laundry washer & dryer, double garage and fully fenced rear yard. Major kitchen appliances include an ice-maker fridge/freezer, gas cooktop, oven, microwave, dishwasher, sunbeam coffee pod machine, electric frypan and blender. The house comes complete with a range of novels and DVDs for both adults and kids, a high chair, board games and kids toys, 4 push bikes, a smart TV, bluetooth sound bar and a separate stereo system.

One of the bedrooms with a queen sized bed is completely separate from the main house with its own toilet and outdoor deck, providing a great space for 2 families holidaying together. The gardens at the home offer privacy and are bird attracting with Australian natives in the front and a virtual rainforest at the rear.

Sea Le Vie comes complete with 2 body boards, a beach umbrella and sand castle toys to allow you to take advantage of the well known local surf beaches. The outdoor shower completes the beach house vibe.

Your dog is well catered for with a dog bed, bowls and lead. A local park and playground are located just down the back path.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Overpriced Stayed at Sea le Vie after a last min cancellation with our first preferred house due to construction. Unfortunately we were disappointed. Pros- lovely area. Quiet, close to the ocean. Path to beach at rear of property. Ocean can be heard from all rooms of the house. Facilities are good- washer, dryer, dishwasher. Essentials supplied enough for 2 days as mentioned in the website. House was very clean upon our arrival. We travelled with our 1 year old- high chair was in provided in the house (though harness missing so was a little dangerous) and we rented a cot. Many cons- I wouldn't recommend this house despite the pros above, as it is very overpriced. The sea view is minimal and spoilt by the street/neighbours cars parked out front). Really bizarrely designed house. The front too exposed and the back bush not taken advantage- minimal windows and few awkwardly small balcony's. Not clearly described on the website is the layout. It doesn't clearly state that main house is all upstairs, there is only one bedroom upstairs in this main part of the house, the second room on this level (with tv/kitchenette/private entrance) is actually out across a covered deck (so essentially you would need to go outside to get to the room). The third room is downstairs (2 singles), forth external downstairs. Probably not ideal for young kids. The pool is odd. Very exposed at the front of the property, especially with the neighbours cars parked right out front. We didn't use the pool anyway, the beach was warmer and far more appealing. Maintenance was bad. Blinds in main room were stuck, finally got them working few days in. Kettle was broken, coffee machine wasn't working (no instructions provided for this, checked the manual online but still couldn't get it to work). Internet was down and the tv wasn't turning on (we got the internet working two days in, didn't care about the tv not working). Couldn't find DVDs. The website description is misleading regarding the provided extras in the house too- Toys comprised of a draw of loose toy junk and old game board. The beach umbrella was broken and beach toys comprised of only one small plastic spade (I think I also saw 2 small bogey boards and 2 bikes which we didn't use). Emailed zinc on our first day (sat) regarding blinds, toys, kettle and beach toys and got a reply 2 days later on Mon night saying someone might come the next day to drop off a kettle. No one came. We spent the whole trip boiling water in a saucepan on the stove. All these issues are not expected for a house in this price range. Overall a very overpriced house and poor service, as such it was not the relaxing luxurious getaway as we would have hoped for.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Overpriced Sea le vie is pretty average. It would have to be the weirdest designed beach house we have ever stayed in, the garden is totally unkempt in the front and the back is even worse. We stayed for 6 nights and it would be useful if you put in more than one sachet of diswashing liquid and dishwasher powder and maybe even salt and pepper, I would not stay here again and I would not recommend it either.
