Vanbery Cottage Host Farm is a very special place. It offers ONE only boutique, hilltop cottage, with private in-ground guest pool and gazebo. Both overlook the breathtaking Coochin Valley, which is surrounded by the splendid mountains of the McPherson Range. The view encompasses arguably the most beautiful section of the Scenic Rim, including Mt Barney, Mt Maroon, Minto Craig and Wilson's Peak.

It is fully self-contained and tastefully decorated. Quality linen is supplied and the furniture is very comfortable. The interior of the cottage has an open plan design, perfect for just 2 adults. There is a queen size bed, decked out for cosy comfort. The lounge/dining area has a wood burning fireplace May-September to keep the entire cottage warm during winter, plus air-conditioning to cool it in summer.
There is a separate galley style kitchen, complete with full size fridge, stove, microwave, coffee machine and lovely crockery. Guests will appreciate all the thoughtful extras we have included.
The separate bathroom has a full size bath with modern shower fittings and plenty of soft towels. An array of enticing toiletries is also on offer.
French doors lead out to the wide and relaxing verandah which runs along two sides. It is the perfect spot for gazing at the ever changing view, from misty morning sunrises through to glorious sunsets. Here guests can enjoy squatter's chairs, dining tables, BBQ and even a hammock. Books, magazines, jigsaws and games are all provided.
The pool is also very special. it has a freshwater filtration system, free of salt and chlorine. Guests can swim privately, even under the stars or the moon.
At the back of the cottage is a small laundry, so essential for longer stays. Undercover parking is also provided.
Vanbery Cottage Host Farm is home to 12 breeding Brangus cows and their yearly offspring. There are two dams. The front lower dam has an island and is the favourite home of water fowl and nesting birds. The property abounds in resident wildlife, including whip tail and red neck wallabies, kangaroos, potoroos, bandicoots and even the occasional koala. Native birds are everywhere.
Guests drive along a gravel section of road, past the bottom paddocks and cattle yards, to the cement tracks which take you up to the top of the hill. It is an all weather road and suitable for 2 wheel drive cars.
The farm is situated a 12 kilometre scenic drive from Boonah township and a 90 minute drive from Brisbane CBD. The surrounding area is renowned for its natural beauty. There are seven National Parks close by for all sorts of adventurous exploring or quiet picnicking. Plus, for water lovers, Lake Moogerah and Lake Maroon are just 5 minutes drive away. Visitors are also drawn to the quaint small towns, local wineries, pubs and eateries. Boonah township itself is a thriving place and has many services on offer. A day at the Gold Coast is also within easy reach. We are on hand for a friendly chat and to be of assistance in offering local advice and directions if needed. There is so much for our guests to see and do...or maybe just stay home in the cottage, uninterrupted, for a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Guests can choose to do either, or better still, stay longer, and do BOTH.
Unfortunately one night stays are NOT available, nor is the cottage suitable for children or any pets. It has been thoughtfully designed JUST for 2 adults maximum. As we are also not a B&B, breakfast is NOT included in the tariff. There is an optional extra "Breakfast Basket" provision available on request. Guests then cook for themselves in the cottage at their own leisure. There is also a MINIMUM of TWO 2 NIGHTS FOR WEEKENDS and a MINIMUM OF THREE NIGHTS FOR MIDWEEK stays, Monday to Thursday.
