The Railway Lodge is a unique section of the historic Mount Lofty Railway Station, which is located on its own large grounds in Stirling, gateway to the Adelaide Hills. Self contained and self catering, it is spacious and practical, more than equivalent to a 3 bedroom home. It suits families (up to 8 guests) or a group of adults (up to 6 guests). The large lounge with an open fire was once the Ladies waiting room, and the kitchen & bedrooms are what was the Stationmaster's residence. All this was first built in 1883.
For over 16 years, guests have been staying in the Railway Lodge when visiting the Adelaide Hills or as a convenient base to Adelaide itself. Hidden in the Hills, but just 20 mins down to Adelaide's CBD. Cool summer nights, dazzling colourful autumn days, bright blue skies in spring or warm as toast inside in a misty winter, each season has a different reason for its popularity.
Practical and spacious, comfy beds and bedding, excellent bathrooms and an atmosphere unmatched. Hope to see you soon.
