Set in over an acre of gardens on the banks of the river Angas sit our heritage listed C1860 bluestone restored cottages.
The Gasworks once provided the gas for the town of Strathalbyn until it ceased production in 1917 and is now beautifully converted to accommodation for its owners and guests in our lovingly restored fully separate cottages.
The Stables Cottage as its name suggests was once the home to the horses that lived on site but is now a cosy romantic cottage with own lounge/kitchette and bedroom with queen bed and ensuite spa bathroom. Situated at the far side of the property, privacy is guaranteed and you enjoy beautiful views of the gardens. Take a stroll around the beautiful gardens, maybe enjoy a picnic on the lawns.
Choose to cook breakfast in your own kitchen with the ample provisions provided for your first two days free of charge or have your breakfast cooked for you and enjoy on our vine covered terrace overlooking the gardens for an additional cost.
We offer a romance package, which consists of a bottle of locally produced wine red or white chocolates, massage oils and the use of a massage table in the privacy of your own cottage. Contact us after booking to arrange the romance package, cooked breakfasts or to discuss any other special requests.
We have a large range of DVDs to loan free of charge as well as books and magazines. A laundry is also available for use. Internet is not currently available in the cottage but we welcome guests to use the Internet free of charge from our Terrace.
We are situated in the beautiful historic town of Strathalbyn, the southern end of High Street, just a short stroll from the town centre with its Antique shops, Heritage railway and many dining options, including The Olfactory Inn 2016 SA Winner of best new restaurant.
