Sussex Cottage is an early German settler's cottage of 3 bedrooms, perfect for families, with private secure landscaped garden. There is a full kitchen and separate lounge area with a large LCD digital TV and a DVD player with two split system air conditioning units.
The cottage has three bedrooms with a queen bed in the master bedroom, two king singles in the second bedroom and a loft bedroom with another two king singles.
The rear private garden has been landscaped and features scented thyme, ice berg standard roses, English box hedging, an espaliered lemon tree and sweet smelling jasmine. The cottage also offers a complimentary pre paid parking permit.
It is located on a quiet one way small street with flowering Crepe Myrtle Trees and nestled in between other historic cottages, close to the Melbourne street precinct with an array of delicious cafes and restaurants. The cottage is suitable for over night stays, weekly stays and extended monthly stays.
Hop on the FREE CONNECTOR BUS every 15 minutes between 8am- 6pm 7 days a week, which takes you between all ports of interest in the city (one complete circuit takes approx 1 ¼ hours) with frequent stops to all the attractions including the Central Market the oldest and most vibrant market in Australia, The South Australian Art Gallery and Museum, the fabulous Adelaide Cricket Oval and take a behind the scenes tour of the hand operated Score Board.

This lovely cottage was built in about 1860 for the early German settlers in Adelaide who made their home in this pretty part of North Adelaide. The cottage has a steeped roof line, paned glass windows and a picket front fence. If you look closely you may still see the original hand made wooden shingles under the roof line. Sussex Street is a one way tree lined street lined with cottages. There is a parlor (sitting room), dining area, three bedrooms, a bathroom with a bath and shower and a well equipped kitchen. The French doors in the sitting room open to a neat back patio garden with an outdoor table and chairs, spilling with scented lavender & jasmine.
A recent renovation has created a 3rd 'Loft' bedroom of generous proportions, with 2 king single beds (or 1 king bed).
The cottage is decorated with cottage antiques and features a particularly unusual plate rack taken from a demolished North Adelaide mansion. The location is excellent, near to the shops cafes, pubs, restaurants & clubs of cosmopolitan Melbourne Street, North Adelaide. It features reverse cycle air conditioning (upstairs and downstairs) and has a provision for on street parking with a complimentary prepaid parking permit. This unique Australian early settler's cottage is of National Significance and it is on both the Australian National Estate and State Heritage List.
