Description

Sitting adjacent to the base of the Adelaide Hills, Bickham Grange Estate is a fully self contained cottage restored with loving detail to its original beauty. Established in 1851, the cottage initially housed a family of brewers before becoming a longstanding residence for the family of the first Bishop of Adelaide.

This heritage listed home radiates the charm of yesteryear, featuring high ceilings and leadlight windows, cosy open fireplace, and huge claw foot bath. It is furnished throughout with a delightful mix of antique and modern, equipped with everything you need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.

THINGS TO NOTE: Bickham Grange is a NON SMOKING environment. Smoking inside the cottage and within its immediate vicinity is strictly prohibited. Neither can we accommodate pets.

FEATURES: Providing accommodation for five guests, the cottage consists of two bedrooms each furnished with a double bed, with an extra single bed in the larger room. Living areas are generous in size, bathroom features walk-in shower, claw foot bath and toilet, and a second toilet is located off the kitchen. All linens and towels are included, and the modern kitchen features full size refrigerator, oven, cooktop, microwave, and a full range of Maxwell Williams plateware and cutlery. Private outdoor areas and undercover verandahs provide various spots to relax and enjoy the ambience of the garden.

LOCATION: Close to Adelaide Hills, City Centre, Wineries - it's all here ..... Ideally located in a quiet residential street in the leafy suburb of Dernancourt, you will experience breathtaking scenery, national parks, tantalising cellar doors and bushwalking trails within a few minutes of leaving home. We are just 10km from the CBD, 10 minutes from the Adelaide Hills, and only an hour's drive from the famed Barossa, McLaren Vale and Clare Valley wine districts.

ATTRACTIONS: 5 minutes to Morialta National Park, beautiful walking trails, koalas and local wildlife - 10 minutes to the Adelaide Hills, cellar doors, gourmet foods & cheeses - 15 minutes to Adelaide CBD, galleries, restaurants, Botanic Gardens and the Zoo - 30 minutes to Hahndorf, historical village, German pubs, local artisans - 40 minutes to Glenelg, beaches, restaurants, shopping - 50 minutes to Barossa Valley, wineries, cellar doors, antiques - 60 minutes to McLaren Vale, rolling hills, wineries and more cellar doors.

WELCOME: I will meet you on arrival, and provide keys to the cottage. We are available at all times to assist with guest enquiries, however we respect your privacy and won't intrude. A welcome basket with provisions for continental breakfast - cereals, bread, juice, milk, tea/coffee, selection of conserves, and a generous fruit bowl - will be awaiting you on arrival.

Bickham Grange is an ideal spot to share with friends or family, suitable also for executive groups, and it's a perfect retreat for a romantic weekend getaway. Set in beautiful private gardens, it's easy to find a quiet area to relax and unwind, read a book, or enjoy a sunset drink while you reminisce over the day's spectacular outings. RATES: The advertised nightly rate is based on the occupation of one bedroom only by up to two guests, ie one couple. If two guests require a separate bedroom each, a weekly $40 linen/services fee applies. The second bedroom is not made up when one couple books, unless requested. Guest numbers in excess of two persons will be charged at the rate of $40 per adult guest per night. Children up to age 16 years will be charged at the rate of $15 per guest per night contact host. The cottage accommodates five 5 guests maximum. Off street undercover parking is provided for one vehicle.

STAY: The minimum accepted booking is 2 nights except for Easter, Christmas and the New Year holiday period 22Dec-21Jan when the minimum accepted booking is 3 nights. We also offer attractive long term rates - ten percent discount when you stay 7 days, and up to twenty percent discount when you stay 28 days or longer.
