The B&B of Bliss is a beautiful old bluestone cottage surrounded by pretty gardens and big shady trees. It is located in the heritage area of the main street of the lovely little town of Angaston in the Barossa Valley. The cottage was originally home to the local Blacksmith and his forge is right next door and still working, manned on the weekends by a great group of volunteers.
From the white picket fence at the front of the cottage to the enormous, over 100 year old old grape vine that shelters the enclosed courtyard at the back of the property, this place is a gem, with the added bonus that it is within walking distance to some great restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops.
Bliss has two bedrooms, both with very comfy queen sized beds and accommodates four people easily and up to six in a pinch There is also a large lounge room with a generous scattering of sofas and armchairs, a den, complete with a beautiful leather chesterfield type sofa, a bar and an extra dining table, a light and spacious country kitchen and a big bathroom with a raised spa bath. The courtyard is private, calm and lovely, with its own little garden and shaded by that big old vine.
A generous assortment of provisions are included, with a lot of the food homebaked and prepared. Local produce features heavily, quite often from the gardens of the owner and friends and family. The food experience is an important part of the stay. A very short walk down the street will get guests to some seriously good local eateries also, with the standouts being Casa Carboni, a little Italian cooking school/restaurant and next to it, the Barossa Valley Cheese Company.
