Description

The B&B of Bliss is a beautiful old bluestone cottage surrounded by pretty gardens and big shady trees. It is located in the heritage area of the main street of the lovely little town of Angaston in the Barossa Valley. The cottage was originally home to the local Blacksmith and his forge is right next door and still working, manned on the weekends by a great group of volunteers.

From the white picket fence at the front of the cottage to the enormous, over 100 year old old grape vine that shelters the enclosed courtyard at the back of the property, this place is a gem, with the added bonus that it is within walking distance to some great restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops.

It is most suited to couples, but a few extras can be squeezed in if necessary. There is one bedroom, a large lounge room with a generous scattering of sofas and armchairs, a light and spacious country kitchen and a big bathroom, complete with a raised spa bath. The courtyard is private, calm and lovely, with its own little garden and shaded by that big old vine.

A small lifestyle shop/cafe runs from the original two front rooms of the cottage. It is separated from the B&B by a very solid and locked door. Privacy and quietness are guaranteed and the coffee is always on the house for guests.

Breakfasts are fully catered for, with most of the food homebaked and prepared. Local produce features heavily, quite often from the gardens of the owner and friends and family. The food experience is an important part of the stay. A very short walk down the street will get guests to some seriously good local eateries also, with the standouts being Casa Carboni, a little Italian cooking school/restaurant and next to it, the Barossa Valley Cheese Company. Yum
