Set in the back streets of Redruth - one of Burra's original five towns - your cottage was originally one of the Bakeries that served the hungry miners at what was then the biggest copper mine in the world Just think of all the Cornish pasties or loaves of German Schwarz Brot black bread that came from the oven that is still a feature of the building
The cottage has a Queen bed, a Double bed and a single bed, two lounge rooms one with an open fire plus a massive dine in country kitchen with a log fire. The utility room houses the original Scotch Baker's Oven.
There are expansive well fenced cottage gardens, shady nooks under the ancient pepper trees, and winding paths through native plants.
Pets are welcome subject to conditions so guests need to be aware that there may have been pets inside the cottage during previous stays
Your cottage is walking distance to National Trust sites on the Burra Key Hire system - the Police Lock Up and Strables are just around the corner. The Smelters Works are around the corner and the Burra Redruth Gaol featured in Breaker Morant movie is a five minute walk away.
