Hiding behind the magnificent stone wall on Hutchison Street, Alchemy 1 is a delight to behold. Walk through the gate and into peace and tranquility. The open plan lounge/dining/kitchen is a light filled space with double height ceilings in some parts, a wood stove, and double height windows overlooking a beautiful and private paved courtyard. The rich timber floors, bagged rendered walls, and timber staircase add to the character of this space. Adding to the comfort is a split system air conditioner for both heating and cooling.
The country kitchen with its rich timber benches, stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, and walk in panty is the perfect place for MasterChef inspired guests to cook up a storm.
Off the open plan living is another cosy lounge with big screen TV. A reading nook is hidden around the corner - so even though the cottage is relatively small, there are many different spaces to explore and escape to. The lounge is also a sofa bed, and can sleep an extra two people.
Heading upstairs there is further magic to be found. The mezzanine master bedroom is a haven of country romance. The big cosy bed has a gorgeous array of cosy pillows for ultimate comfort. The big windows look out to the courtyard and to a big tree that is a kaleidoscope of green in spring to summer. There is a built in robe.
Off the master bedroom is the piece de resistance. You will never have experienced a bathroom like this This bathroom is the ultimate in relaxing luxury The huge, deep spa bath, encased in stone pebbles is jaw dropping. An array of candles and bath salts enable you to create the perfect romantic experience for your loved one or an incredibly soothing and reviving experience for you. The french provincial vanity is a beautiful piece of furniture that adds to the romance of the space. On the other side of the bathroom is an oversized shower with rain showerhead, and a pebble wall. For an extra special slice of luxury this bathroom features not one but two split systems - so you can set the air temperature in the bathroom to the exact level to suit you. The red brick paved rear courtyard has an outdoor dining setting, which is the perfect place for a summer BBQ gas BBQ is supplied.
You are welcomed on arrival with a cheese platter cheese, water crackers and quince paste and a bottle of the local vintage from Ballast Stone a prominent Currency Creek winery with a tasting centre in Goolwa. For breakfast is an array of Beerenberg jams and coffee pods for the coffee machine.
Our hamper includes, local bacon, free range eggs, with tomatoes, mushrooms and spinach. A crusty loaf and selection of beerenberg jams, and a delicious toasted muesli, with yoghurt. We include milk, juice,butter, wine, cheese, and biscuits, and there is a coffee machine, selection of teas and chocolate biscuits as well. Two gorgeous touring bikes are available between the two cottages Alchemy I & II on a first in first served basis. The perfect way to tour all that Goolwa has to offer see below. Please let us know if you would like to book the bikes.
Your pets are very welcome to accompany you during your stay at Alchemy I. The front and rear yard is completely enclosed with fencing at least 5' high. Dog bowls are provided. Your well behaved dogs are very welcome inside
