Coorong Lakehouse is on the last stretch of the River Murray and on the shoreline about a kilometre before the Murray mouth and about a kilometre downstream from the Goolwa Barrage.
The house is about 20 metres from the river estuary edge and looks out over the river to the sandhills beyond.
Immediately in front of the house is a shallow lagoon with a narrow channel that goes out to the river itself. The lagoon is tidal but well suited to canoes and shallow boats.
You can see the Murray mouth in the distance and the Coorong scenery is spectacular.
Birdlife, fish and wonderful sunsets combine to make this secluded location a truly magnificent escape.
Coorong Lakehouse has four bedrooms. The master bedroom overlooks the river and has a queen size bed and an en-suite bathroom.The second bedroom also has a queen bed. The third bedroom has two single beds that can be joined together, on request, for a king bed. The fourth bedroom has two bunk beds which are best suited for children. The bedrooms are freshly carpeted and each room has a view.
The kitchen and upstairs living areas have floor to ceiling windows and open onto a wide balcony which looks out over the river.
Downstairs is a second living area with a pool table and second television. It also has a second bathroom and a fully equipped laundry. A double sofa bed allows visitors to stay over.
Heating is gas and electric and the main lounge is air-conditioned. TVs, stereo, dishwasher and a well equipped kitchen complete the holiday. A large BBQ is downstairs. An outdoor table overlooks the river for lazy long lunches.
The back yard is fenced and there is ample car parking.
The lagoon enables small boat sailing or canoeing.
Small motor boats can launch from the adjacent ramp.
A small rowing boat can be accessed at no extra charge by prior agreement.
The Mundoo Channel boat ramp is about three kilometres away.
