Port Elliot has long since been a holiday hotspot on the shores of Horseshoe Bay, in South Australia. Throughout the summer, visitors flock to the coastal town to swim, surf, fish and hike, among many other outdoor activities. Port Elliot’s Beaches

Port Elliot boasts a series of beaches, some of which are optimal for surfing and others which are favoured by swimmers. Families with young children tend to spend their days along Horseshoe Bay, with its calm waves, shallow waters, white sand and leafy foreshore. Catch some rays as you watch beginners’ surf lessons take place.

More advanced surfers can head over to Boomer Beach, where waves can exceed 15 ft at their most turbulent. Boomer Beach also acts as a hub for bodyboarders. If you would like to learn to surf on the shores of Boomer Beach, you can take classes as part of a group or with a private instructor.

Fishing in Port Elliot
