Accessible picnic areas and safe beaches make this area ideal for relaxing holidays while the more adventurous can enjoy top class bushwalking, diving and fishing activities.
The Blacksmith's Cottage is in one of the peninsula's premium locations at Second Valley. Quiet and secluded Gamlen Place is a small cul de sac in the original Randalsea section of the valley. Home to only two other restored cottages no.2 exudes charm and tranquillity.
Surrounded by desirable holiday attractions the cottage is a 2 minute drive or 15 minute walk to what has been described as South Australia's best beach.
Built around 1860 the former blacksmith's cottage is the perfect place to enjoy a break. This exceptional four room stone cottage has all the charm of solid timber ceilings, polished hardwood floors, solid slate flagstones and antique claw foot bath,. Heating is by wood fired heater, and ducted reverse cycling airconditioning ensures you will never be too hot or cold. Dine alfresco on the verandah and soak up the ambience of the cottage style gardens. Enjoy the views over farmland down to the waters of St Vincent's Gulf as you cook up a feast on the barbecue patio or in the well equipped kitchen. Or wander 100 metres over to the award winning Leonard's Mill restaurant for superb fare.
Due to a deep steep sided creek running through the grounds this property is not suitable for children and we unfortunately cannot accept pets, much as we do love them.
