Perfect for discerning guests requiring quality accommodation, the 4-Bedroom 'Main Cottage' and 1-Bedroom 'Studio' are perfectly located right next to each other & can be included in one booking, giving fantastic accommodation flexibility. This gorgeous property has beautiful modern country-cottage styling, is blissfully romantic, private, uncluttered, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The timber beams and brickwork that extends inside adds to the charm. The location is fantastic, right on the outskirts of Kingscote in the sleepy little seaside suburb called Brownlow.
An indulgent & spacious retreat for two, yet equally suited to families and friends, the Main Cottage is architect designed & hand built in 2003, with four beautiful bedrooms and two large bathrooms. This option is for bookings of up to 8 guests in standard configuration, or 9 if you'd like to use the sofa bed or basic fold out bed option by request. Although we often call this property our 'couples' cottage with its' perfectly cosy and romantic ambiance, it's also very popular with two couples travelling together due to the excellent privacy of each of the downstairs king bedrooms, each with own bathroom & located at separate ends of the Cottage.
For bookings over 8 guests, use of the separate little 24m sq 1 Bedroom, 1 bathroom Studio Cottage alongside is included. It is quite basic and certainly not as flash as the bigger 4-bedroom Cottages we run, but it's tastefully styled, clean, a really comfortable bed and has the same good quality linens as the Main Cottage, with beach towels included. The ensuite bathroom is very small but bright and there's even tea / coffee making facilities, toaster, microwave and a bar fridge. We can even add a fold out bed to this studio for an extra guest by request. If you have an even larger group, the Cottage and Studio can even be combined with the larger 'Villa' next door, sleeping a total of 22-23 in adjacent properties. Simply wonderful for extended and multi-generation family get-togethers, either quiet grandparents or noisy teens love their own space.

It is vitally important that you advise of correct guest numbers, including children, when booking so that we can prepare for your stay appropriately, advise our housekeeper an accurate turnover clean time and charge correctly - thank you so much for assisting us in this regard. We charge for children who have turned 1 year old, however infants who have not turned 1 at time of travel and using a cot do not incur a charge.
Children are very warmly welcomed and we look forward to you creating special family memories. Older tweens / teens just love to sleep out in the Studio, and if you'd like to squeeze more than 2 in there, please enquire as to what we can do. For babies and children we have a cot, stroller, highchair, kids DVD / games, toys, beach toys etc all available, just please advise if travelling with children and ages and we'll carefully select the right toys to leave out. That said, the property is not 'child-proof' and good supervision is naturally required as it is not fully fenced, has stairs, internal balconies which meet building safety codes but may present a climbing risk for young children, as well as beautiful furnishings & some breakable decorative pieces. If you are unsure as to the suitability of the house, please inquire, we're very friendly and would love to assist with your queries. Our own kids including toddler and teens, are absolutely fine in here, but we know that all kids are different so we're happy to chat.
The property is self-contained and as such you will need to bring your own food and personal consumables. We do provide an excellent 'starter' set of consumables, such as tea/coffee, soaps, detergents, toilet paper, paper towel, food wraps, washing powder etc. which may often be enough for the entire stay. If you need additional consumable items during your stay, supplies are available from the very well-equipped supermarket nearby, just follow the road along the coast, right into Kingscote.
WIFI has now been installed and an access code will be supplied to guests to use on a complimentary basis. Whilst we don't envisage any issues, please be aware that we cannot guarantee access or uninterrupted signal without fault during your stay.
If you're just after a relaxing seaside holiday and have maybe seen the sights before, or will visit again, why not simply fill your days with together-time, beach visits, walks, lazy days, clean air and fish and chips for dinner, followed by a board game night or movie, we're sure you'll go home refreshed. If you're visiting from overseas, we highly recommend maximizing your time by booking an Island tour, we can suggest tour operators.
We naturally include 'normal' cleaning and linen change in the price, after all, you want a real holiday Please relax and enjoy, but kindly note that we just require it to be left neat and tidy, BBQ & oven clean, spills cleaned up as you go and dishes put away and bins emptied on departure. Damage & non-standard excessive cleaning may incur an additional charge. Please note that, the house is strictly non-smoking, not suitable for pets and no hens/bucks nights, big/wild parties, schoolies groups etc. allowed. .
If you have any questions at all, including suggested itineraries, please feel free to contact us, it's amazing how much there is to actually do on the Island, beyond the popular tourist spots. We're friendly, helpful and are passionate about Kangaroo Island. If you only have 3 or 4 days, you'll have a fantastic time and see a few of the main sights. If you have a week you'll have time to see most of the popular sites and attractions, and two weeks will give you time to do some of the lesser-known places and fit in some relaxing walks or beach days. After 2 weeks though, you'll probably be in love with the Island & have found your new favourite travel destination. Some suggested day trips:
