The beauty of Honeyeaters Hideaway is that you cannot see any neighbours and it feels like you are in the middle of one of Australia's most pristine conservation parks.

Honeyeaters has a large fridge, a small cooker, microwave, gas barbecue, kettle, toaster, electric frypan, and crockery, cutlery, pots and pans.

Honeyeaters has a reverse cycle air conditioner and ceiling fan in main room.

There is no television reception but plenty of entertainment with a DVD player and DVDs, a stereo and CDs, radio, books and games.

Honeyeaters Hideaway is a short stroll to Vivonne Bay main beach which was voted Australia's best beach in 2003 by a Sydney University study on over 10,000 beaches. Enjoy beautiful walks along this beach, home to the annual KI surf carnival; hire a canoe and explore the nearby river; fish from the jetty; and discover a host of tourist attractions including Seal Bay, Raptor Domain Birds of Prey display, KI Outdoor Action, Kelly Hill Caves, the Koala Walk, Flinders Chase National Park, Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch. For your convenience, there is a general store in the Vivonne Bay town ship supplying basic groceries, takeaway food, wine.

Owners comment re TELEPHONE RECEPTION: We get Telstra reception on the road that looks out over Vivonne Bay, a couple of minutes walk away; and at the jetty. We rarely get it at the house though.

No Optus reception at Vivonne Bay but you can get it at Kingscote and Penneshaw. There is also a phone box at the general store old school but handy at times

This place is a perfect little home that really participated to make us enjoy our stay in Kangaroo Island. The house is just exactly as it seems on the pictures, beautiful, well equipped and comfortable. Spending several days there is the best if you want to appreciate the wildlife coming around from time to time. The animals are the only neighbors you can encounter because the house is surrounded on every sides by trees, you can't even see the road. A real cocoon of nature in which it is way to easy to fell like at home. Andy and partner Taiwan and France. February 2017

It was by far the best place, even after seeing so many other "fancy" ones around KI. Honeyeaters superseded everywhere else. It has Privacy, calmness, serenity, views, fantastic beach, all amenities and so so comfortable. Yeah to no WIFI OR PHONE RECEPTION. 10 Maryann April 2016

As first time visitors to the island our stay at Honey eaters hideaway was fabulous. The feeling of being surrounded by the natural flora in complete privacy from any others really gave us a feel of being in a very remote place but with all the modern cons. A complete escape from the hustle and bustle of every day life. Our only disappointment with our stay was that we had to go home. Tanya. March 2012

"Perfect little hideaway - you could be in the middle of a forest Rustic and cute, the perfect couples retreat" Brenton Davis

Great house/cabin in walking distance to the beach.

Well priced for the amenity and central place to explore the other parts of KI.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great place We stayed in two other places on K.I., Honeyeaters was our favourite. Beautiful location, good value for money and fantastic for exploring the south side of the island. Loved it. Only drawback (minor) was the corrugated dirt road getting there

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice This modest and cozy beach house really worked well for our family of four. It's main distinction is its connection to the surrounding environment--you really feel like you're part of it, whether you're in one of the outside sitting areas or inside (because of a large wall of windows). There was always wallabies, goannas, or birds to watch. (Birds included New Holland and purple-gaped honeyeaters, silver eyes, and superb blue wrens). The house grew on us during our 4-day stay. It was well-equipped, private, and homey.
