Owners comment re TELEPHONE RECEPTION: We get Telstra reception on the road that looks out over Vivonne Bay, a couple of minutes walk away; and at the jetty. We rarely get it at the house though.
No Optus reception at Vivonne Bay but you can get it at Kingscote and Penneshaw. There is also a phone box at the general store old school but handy at times
TESTIMONIALS - Charlie who stayed February 2018 gave the property a '6 star rating'
This charming chalet is small but packed with every human comfort. Outside of the outstanding 360 degree view, seeing all of the animals come around was the best part. Just watching birds, wallabies and even a goanna monitor come for a drink of water was fun. We saw wallabies everyday and gave them carrots and watched them eat from inside and outside of the house. The kitchen is very small but fully equipped to prepare a meal for us. The beach is a couple of minutes walk from the cottage and Flinders Chase was a short drive away. We didn't have internet, cable or tv but there is a great collection of DVDs. That was fun just watching a movie together at night. The bed was comfortable and the shower pressure was good. This was our favorite place we stayed on Kangaroo Island during our ten day trip. Lots of privacy, wallabies and walking distance to the beach. Wow. Douglas February 2019
You get so much more than an amazingly quiet secluded hideaway, you get to be part of the action, with wallabies, birds joining everyday for brekky and arvo glasses of wine. Everything is just 1/2-40mins away. Great for couples. Mikki April 2018
Absolutely loved our stay at Honey Eaters Hideaway. Perfect getaway for couples, central in KI made daytrips easy. Awesome waking up with wallabies and birds around us. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return one day. 6-Star Charlie February 2018
We would highly recommend Honeyeaters Hideaway. It is a lovely cottage, nestled in a beautiful bush setting, only a couple of minutes from the beach at Vivonne Bay. It is a nature lover's paradise. Every morning and evening, on our return from our travels, we were treated to a display of honeyeaters and other native birds foraging for food just outside the windows and 6 wallabies who joined us on the verandah. It was a great base for exploring Seal Bay, Hansons Bay, Admirals Arch and the Remarkable Rocks. No TV reception which was a bonus as you could just relax and watch the great selection of DVDs on offer or read a book. It was only a short walk from the Vivonne General Store where you could enjoy the famous whiting burgers. We will be back Sally & Peter Kalorama Victoria Honeyeaters Hideaway is the absolute best place to stay EVER So close to a beautiful beach, secluded in peaceful nature and close to wallabies and kangaroos. The locals were super nice and all the destination spots on KI are only a short drive away. I highly recommend staying here Christopher and Meghan March 2017
This place is a perfect little home that really participated to make us enjoy our stay in Kangaroo Island. The house is just exactly as it seems on the pictures, beautiful, well equipped and comfortable. Spending several days there is the best if you want to appreciate the wildlife coming around from time to time. The animals are the only neighbors you can encounter because the house is surrounded on every sides by trees, you can't even see the road. A real cocoon of nature in which it is way to easy to fell like at home. Andy and partner Taiwan and France. February 2017
It was by far the best place, even after seeing so many other "fancy" ones around KI. Honeyeaters superseded everywhere else. It has Privacy, calmness, serenity, views, fantastic beach, all amenities and so so comfortable. Yeah to no WIFI OR PHONE RECEPTION. 10 Maryann April 2016
