Whether you're looking for a high octane weekend out on the water, or a peaceful few days of wine tasting and relaxation - or anything in between - Nikalapko Homestay will have all your holiday needs. This retired river-stone homestead is 100 meters back from the river and is nestled into the flood plains of the historic Nikalapko Station just 15kms from Morgan, 5kms from Cadell, and 20kms from Waikerie.
The property winds its way around 6kms of river frontage and has a nice selection of cliffs, flood plains and back water lagoons. There is an abundance of bird life, including the endangered regent parrot, kookaburras that feed off the front lawn, and dense populations of pelicans and swans. Around the yard you will find ample lawn space for games, a vast range of mixed fruit trees, and multiple entertaining areas.
This is a sheep station and we therefore have a no dog policy - no exceptions.
The house is freshly renovated with the following comforts...
4 x queen beds
1 x sofa double bed for extras
1 x port-a-cot available on request
2 x bathrooms 1 upstairs and 1 down with spas, double showers and 2 toilets
1 x laundry with washer, dryer and iron
1 x kitchenette upstairs for your kid-free morning coffees
1 x lounge room with TV, DVD player and extended library of movies.
A small boat trip away is a place called Caudo cellar door, which we strongly recommend you check out. There they will have food, drinks, beautiful views, wine tasting, live music and occasional events like wakeboard competitions, true grit and evening outdoor movies.
The kitchen should have most things you require. There is a large fridge, dishwasher, oven, gas cook-top, microwave, coffee machine for ground coffee, plates, cutlery, cooking pans etc, as well as toasted sandwich maker, slow cooker, steamer, deep fryer, food processer, nutri bullet, fruit juicer and more.
Keep the kids entertained with a DVD while you enjoy a drink out on the front deck. There is 100 meters of lawn between the house and the river so you can have piece of mind that the young ones can't slip out of sight to the river.
In the warmer months there is an air-conditioner that is ducted around the house and will keep you cool, and in the less friendly times of year we have a large slow combustion wood heater with individual room ducting. We will be sure to keep the wood supply topped up, you may just need to take a short walk through the gum trees to gather your kindling.
Arrival time is 2:00pm, and departure is 10:00am.
This is a strictly no smoking house.
