Drive to the lovely seaside town of Bicheno and buy some fresh seafood at Tasmanian Coastal Seafoods to cook at home or some lovely local meat from Sirloin Butcher in the main street. Go to Redbill Beach and walk across to Diamond Island, tide permitting.
Drive further north to Douglas Apsley National Park and swim in the huge waterhole or go for a walk in the bush.
Drive to the lovely town of Lake Leake and have lunch in the pub or drive to Oatlands an historic town full of Georgian buildings and visit Callington Mill, a working Georgian flour mill.
Visit one of the many local wineries. Milton vineyard, Gala Estate, Spring Vale and Devils Corner Vineyards and many more. Milton has fabulous tapas available, Springvale also has food available during summer months. Devils Corner serves food all year round.
Closer to home visit Melshell, a local oyster farm and buy shucked or unshucked oysters direct from the grower, eat in or take away.
Short drive into Swansea, and visit the Heritage Museum and Visitor Centre. Take the walk around Waterloo Point, visit Kate's Berry Farm and Spikey Bridge. Other beaches in the area include Cressy, Kelvedon and Spikey beaches, all a short drive from Swansea.
Visit the Swansea Bark Mill and Museum, then have lunch in the bakery.Good coffee at Artefakt in the main street.
