The Retreat on Dolphin Sands Road is a five acre absolute beachfront property with own private access to Nine Mile Beach. It is a fully furnished three bedroom house with dining area and lounge along with a living area upstairs offering a peaceful alternative for reading, resting and just gazing at the terrific views (if you are lucky dolphins and whales are often seen here) - this also sleeps 2 on a double sofa bed. There are ocean, beach and Hazard views from both levels.
The accommodation comprises 3 bedrooms 1 with queen bed, 2 with double beds (plus electric blankets)and the option of 2 single beds in the adjacent bunkhouse.
Quality linen and bath towels are provided (limited beach towels).
The open plan living/dining area includes a Jetmaster open fireplace, full digitial flat screen TV, DVD/VCR player with assorted movies, iPod player and a selection of books, games, jigsaws and magazines.
The new kitchen is well appointed with electric cook top and oven and a wide range of electrical appliances including a microwave. There is a dishwasher in the kitchen and separate laundry and second toilet in the bunkhouse.
There is an outdoor setting on the upper deck in addition to the facilities provided on the lower deck including a gas fired BBQ (under cover) for entertaining.
If you keep the bird baths full you will be rewarded with daily sightings of black cockatoos, brightly coloured parrots and other bird life.

Nine Mile Beach is situated on the magnificent East Coast of Tasmania at Dolphin Sands, 6 kms from Swansea. Enjoy the spectacular views of the Freycinet Peninsula, the Hazards, Maria Island and Shouten Island. Summer or Winter the beach is an idyllic place to walk, collect shells, swim or paddle and is safe for children.
The Retreat is perfectly placed for day trips to Freycinet National Park and Wineglass Bay where the lookout affords fabulous views of this famous beach. Orford (including Triabunna for the ferry to Maria Island); Bicheno (offering access to the Douglas-Apsley National Park,
St Helens, and the now infamous Bay of Fires.
Swansea has a marvellous selection of restaurants and cafes - all within a 6 minute drive into the township. For gourmet lovers The Banc Restaurant ticks all the boxes. For more casual dining the Bark Mill Tavern, Trestle Cafe, Oyster Bay Seafoods, The Horny Cray and The Ugly Duck Out are excellent alternatives.
