Our beautiful hill top house has 180 degree north facing views of Bass Strait. Situated just a 5 minute walk from the main street of Penguin which has cafes, a restaurant and cute shops.
Our home is a three bedroom house with two queen bed and a kids room with single bunk beds. Since purchasing the property we’ve polished the floors, replaced the kitchen, completely renovated the bathroom, painted throughout, built the mudroom in the hall way, tidied up the bedrooms, cleaned up the yard yes, it was a lot worse, updated the laundry and added the breakfast bar to the dining room. It has come a long way, however we still have big plans to build out under the house and add a second bathroom upstairs turning the existing bathroom into the master ensuite.
There are two heat sources in the house; the split system and the wood heater wood supplied for the cooler months only. The remote control for the split system is located on the wall next to the lounge room doorway. During the cooler months firewood has been provided for your stay and is located on the balcony outside the front door.
Freshly renovated and with more improvements to come.
There are two IGA’s located in town the main IGA Hanks closes fairly early, the smaller one is open till 7pm. There is also a milk bar located on Ironcliff road near crescent st. Penguin has a couple of cute café’s, restaurants and a Bakery. I highly recommend having breakfast at Letterbox next to the post office.
If you are happy to go for a short drive during the summer months Mt Gnomon is a genuine food and farming experience – bookings are essential please call Guy on , also check out their website for events and tours.
Another recommendation is Berry Patch in Turners Beach – if you love picking fresh berries and wood fire pizza.
To get the best experience you are best to talk to locals and get their knowledge – they are always up for a chat.
