Quamby Pines is a Farm-stay B&B close to Deloraine, halfway between Devonport & Launceston.
The accommodation has 1 main room with a queen bed and a foldout sofa bed convertible to a double bed, the second smaller room has a double bed with a single bunk on top. For your convenience there is a small kitchen plus a smaller type bathroom-toilet facility. There is a BBQ area at the back accessible to all guests (and us) BBQ use incurs a cost of $5.
The 40acre property is run on organic principles (not accredited) we run a few sheep and a couple of cows, there is also some chooks supplying us with their tasty creation's, there is also 2 pheasant calling this their home.
We try to maintain a zero carbon footprint policy with solar panels & solar hot water, we maintain all native bush and wetlands on the property, planted a variety of around a 1000 trees, a small orchard completes the picture.
Quamby pines is bird watchers paradise with a huge variety of different birds, special mention needs to go to the 2 dams sometimes occupied by a family of black swans and cute but shy platypuses, at odd times we get a visit from a pair of sea eagles, For the keen fisher man there is some rainbow trout in both dams, free fishing, however you have to pay for fish if not released again.
