Windermere Waters is an absolute waterfront holiday destination or a convenient base located only 20 minutes from Launceston’s CBD. Use your stay to relax right on the banks of the Tamar River, tour the historical Windermere Church next door or visit the local vineyards.

By staying at Windermere Waters you are in a private parkland setting consisting of a hectare of land and almost a kilometre of Tamar River waterfront. It is a private setting and home for guests to enjoy.

If you are intrastate, bring your boat, jet ski and kayaks as you have direct access to an idyllic protected 70 kilometre navigable waterway. A public boat ramp with two pontoons adjoins the property so you can fish, ski and paddle or just relax on the balcony. If you are interstate or overseas you can visit the historical Windermere church, walk along the waterfront in complete privacy, or just marvel in the breathtaking scenery and sunsets over the river.

The home is located within metres of the banks of the Tamar River and at high tide it’s so close to the water you will believe that you are in a cruise liner. The expansive home consists of three double bedrooms all with queen sized beds, a Tasmanian blackwood kitchen with modern appliances, a comfortable family room with 70 inch TV, an expansive lounge and adjoining study with a desk overlooking the water to enjoy the river views while you work.

Heating and cooling is provided by three strategically placed reverse cycle air conditions and just for effect there is a two metre long imitation but realistic fire in the lounge room to give you a warm atmosphere to enable you to enjoy the Tasmanian winter.

The home is tastefully decorated, comfortable and the river views from almost every room are breathtaking.

There are two large well appointed bathrooms each with double vanities allowing ample space and comfort for up to three couples. We have recently renovated the home with new carpet and a face lift throughout.

You can also relax with a full body massage in our Inada Dreamwave Massage Chair.

Enjoy the wildlife including some friendly ducks, a variety of birds and depending of the time of the year you can see the seals swim by, or even come up on the beach right in front of the balcony.

The garden is full of a variety of tress and flowers and depending on the season you will encounter daffodils, tulips and gladioli to name a few.

Windermere is located in an idyllic quiet setting on the Tamar River and is only a few minutes off highway A8. It is 35 minutes from Launceston airport of a 20 minutes from Launceston or a comfortable two and a half hour drive from Tasmania’s capital Hobart. Windermere Waters is ideally located as a base for your Tasmanian Holiday as it is centrally located in the state with and serviced by excellent roads.

During your stay there is ample paved off street parking with plenty of room to bring boats, park a caravan or campervan.

Due to the close proximity of unprotected deep water we do not allow children under 12 on site.

Once you arrive at Windermere Waters you will find the home fully serviced ready for your stay. Breakfast will be available for your first morning. Generally, you will not be interrupted as the laundry with washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board is available.

For those wishing to have an extended stay, our friendly gardener may be on site in order to maintain the garden and lawns to the parkland setting expected.

The area is so quiet that most of the noise you will here is the sound of the waves lapping the beach. The Historic and beautiful Windermere Church sits proudly on our Southern boundary and whilst it has a must see graveyard its inhabitants are ghostly quiet. Farmland is located on the other side of the road and there are no close by neighbours as the river forms the boundary to the south and west. The roads fence-line is bounded by a fast growing pittosporum hedge that will offer complete privacy.

There is the Windermere Corner Cafe and take away meals are available only 15 minutes away in the Northern suburbs of Launceston.

Public Transport is not available.

Unfortunately we do not allow pets as we do not want to risk the safety of our local wildlife.
