Our house lends itself to relaxation. A beautiful view of the beach, across the River Derwent, to Opossum Bay and Mt Wellington. The amazing views are seen from many aspects of the house, the front deck - sit and enjoy a beverage overlooking the sparkling waters of the ocean, and the surf roll in on the beach. Sit and read in one of the two lounge areas, or in the back yards manicured garden. The garden contains fruit when in season, and fresh herbs for your cooking experience.
The Beach House is a two storey 4 bedroom home, which boasts two living rooms each with dining suites, TVs, DVD players and lounges. In the body of the house, there is a computer room/office, set up with unlimited wired internet wired in the office – and wireless available throughout the house.
Laundry facilities set up and ready to go, and extra fridge/freezer is in the laundry.
Bedroom 1 - QS bed, walk in robe, en-suite including vanity, shower and toilet. There is a wall mounted 32’ TV, and ceiling heating.
Bedroom 2 - QS bed, wall mounted 32’ TV, built in robe with mirror, and ceiling heating.
Bedroom 3 - Dbl bed, wall mounted 32” TV, built in robe with mirror, and ceiling heating.
both bedrooms 2 & 3 have a shared bathroom with vanity, shower, bath and separate toilet.
Bedroom 4 is downstairs and is an enormous room. It has a Queen size bed, and 2 single beds. It has an en-suite; which includes a vanity, shower and toilet. There is a wall mounted 42’ TV and a wall mounted heater. There is also a lounge.
All rooms will be ready with new quality bedding, linen, blankets and pillows. Electric blankets on all beds except the single bed to keep you lovely and warm on these cool Tassie nights
There are two patios back and front, with back deck providing outdoors seating and a chef preferred Ziggler and Brown BBQ. As we are organising our space, more photos will be uploaded - watch this space
There is a baby rocker, high chair and port-a-cot available for those who are travelling with small children.
Pets are welcome. The back yard is fully fenced and we have the usual water dish and food containers for your travelling dog to stay with you. Pet beds and pooper scooper
We work full- time, respect your privacy, possibly meet and greet if we are available, may just pop in to provide provisions and answer any queries.
There is a shopping centre within 10 minutes walk or 2 minute drive away. The flagship of the shopping centre is the Hill Street Grocer by the way - it's not in Hill Street, just named that, but that’s another story. The chain of Hill Street grocers have a reputation in the south of Tasmania for supplying great customer service, and good clean including organic locally sourced Tasmanian food, with a fantastic vegetable section, cheeses and deli. It's our local shop, and we love it. We recommend you visit 'The Bayview Market the shopping centre to obtain your supplies when visiting.
There are other shops in the group, which include a Banjos Bakery, a News-agency, Japanese sushi, a chemist, doctors surgery, a 'Celebrations' Bottle shop, hairdressers, a gift shop and beautician. Just up the road there is a Cole's express service station offering fuel and groceries til very late.
Within a minutes walk from our house, you will find the beautiful Blackmans Bay Beach, which has swings and other play equipment for the kids, and is adjacent to a coin operated BBQ and public toilets. Blackmans Bay beach is beautiful to swim in sometimes the cold is a little too invigorating in the winter but is very picturesque, and enjoyable for those who do like taking a dip. In the winter months a great swell rolls in and often see surfers taking a ride. In the summer, the water is crystal clear and refreshing. In peak times the beach offers opportunities for surfing and body boarding, and generally is great for snorkelling, scuba, kayaking and other water pursuits.
Across the road from the beach, a few minutes walk from the house is the Beach Restaurant, Jack Loves Red Restaurant, Bombay on the Beach Indian Restaurant, and a take away shop which sells fish n chips, burgers and ice cream. We quite often eat at these restaurants, and can recommend all of them. Their public reviews are available on Trip Advisor. The neighbourhood has a relaxed feel about it, so if your visiting for holidays, touring, or on business, we're sure that the atmosphere provided by the area will prove peaceful.
The easiest way to get around is by car - our house has parking for at least two cars and plenty off on street parking. Our house is just 15 mins drive from Hobart travelling south on the Southern Outlet. The house is 1 minute walk from the bus stop to Hobart, if using this service, please download the metro app, which will give you a quick access to times and route. The closest bus stop is situated on Wells parade.
Buses are frequent and take only 20-25 mins to the CBD. The airport is 30 mins from the house and taxis, and Uber are available from the terminal. The main shopping centre is a 5 min drive at Kingston, which provides numerous eating outlets - KFC, McDonald's, Chinese, Japanese, Subway etc. Coles, Woolworths, bottle shops, medical centres, chemists and many retail stores.
We don’t live on the property, so the house will be all yours to enjoy. That is, with the exception of the garage, which we use for storage and any of the bedrooms that won’t be need by your group. Those bedrooms will be closed. Please don’t be offended by any closed rooms – we don’t charge a cleaning fee, and leaving them open will require us to maintain the cleaning of them, regardless of whether they are used or not.
Should you need anything, we are a phone call away, and live in the area. We have available to our guests a coffee machine with coffee provided, juicer, rice cooker, slow cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle and a ninja bullet for smoothes.
Continental breakfast provided - bread, spreads, butter, milk, a variety of cereals, tea, coffee, sugar etc. Included are all utensils, for example: Victorinox knives, electric mixer, bowls, serving ware, cheese board and much more. Being chefs and teaching everything hospitality, we know what you need
We have a DVD player in each lounge room with a large variety of DVDs to choose from, books to read, most of which are cook books a chefs library, to help with some inspiration in the kitchen. We have a large variety of boars games to play, Nintendo Wii, loads of puzzles, pencil loaded with text as, pencils, rubber ec. and of course a pack of cards.
This house is put together with good quality equipment. It hasn’t been thrown together with cheap shop second-rate equipment, and it’s all-available to use.
