This traditional Dennes Point beachside shack looks out over beautiful D'Entrecasteaux Channel and North Bruny's Nebraska Beach, and is only 30 seconds' walk to its white sands and safe waters.
To get to us, you will have spent a relaxing 15 minutes crossing the Channel on the car ferry, and a further 20 minutes driving north to the very tip of Bruny Island.
Although cleverly renovated to provide all the creature comforts, Carrington Cottage retains its simple beach-shack look and feel, and it is the perfect base for exploring Bruny Island's gourmet and wilderness delights.

Whether to stay in bed and read a book or listen to the sound of the waves, walk up to the Jetty Cafe for the daily papers/coffee/lunch, spend time on the beach or head south to visit the island's many gourmet food and tourism attractions. Don't miss sitting on the cottage deck and watching the Channel sunset, with a glass of wine and your own caught-and-cooked seafood dinner.

Dating from the 1950s, this traditional fisherman's cottage has been fully refurbished, with new bathroom, kitchen, polished floors throughout, repainting inside and out, and a new wrap-around deck.
Inside, this cosy cottage offers open-plan living, kitchen, dining area and lounge (with LCD TV, DVD, books and games, and wood heater); two bedrooms; and a separate bathroom with shower and toilet.
The shack can sleep 5 people. The master bedroom has a Queen Bed; the second bedroom offers 2 singles and a trundle.
Outside is a gas BBQ and picnic table, laundry and sunny grassed back garden. The timber deck wraps around 3 sides of Carrington, with magnificent views from the front over Nebraska Beach and D'Entrecasteaux Channel.
We are 100m from the Dennes Point boat ramp, and 300m from the jetty. Fly down from Hobart by seaplane to join us. Or sail to us, and from the comfort of the cottage keep an eye on your boat on our all-weather short-term mooring.
The cottage is a mere 50m to safe, clean Nebraska Beach.

Two minutes' walk north of Carrington Cottage is the The Dennes Point community centre, with its popular Jetty Cafe (chef Ray, manager Kris), Produce Store and art gallery ("Art at the Point"). Check daily for service of lunches and dinners at the Jetty Cafe.
We do not allow any animals INSIDE the shack. Please let us know if you would like to take your pet with you.
A telephone landline is available in the shack for guest use. There is no restriction on incoming calls, but outgoing calls are limited to a 100km radius, and the phone does not dial to mobiles (cell phones). Mobile phone coverage on Bruny Island is variable. There is a public phone at the community hall.
You'll need to bring all food, toiletries and beach towels. Basic food items are available from the Produce Store at the Jetty Cafe (2 minutes' walk north from Carrington Cottage). However, the cafe may not be open every day. In winter, the café may be closed for a few weeks; at other times, evening meals may not always be available. To check visit the Jetty Cafe website. Basic items (milk, newspapers) are also available at the small takeaway at the ferry terminal at Roberts Point, 20km (20 minutes) to the south.
Petrol (gasoline) is not available at Dennes Point. Petrol is available from the supermarket at Adventure Bay, about 45 minutes' drive south from the shack.
Carrington Cottage is on the shore of D'Entrecasteaux Channel, recognized as one of the world's most beautiful waterways and cruising grounds. For your convenience and enjoyment, Carrington Cottage is able to provide an all-weather mooring situated right off the shack. Mooring availability may be limited and we strongly advise you pre-book.
