This luxurious 27 square, single level home featuring floor to ceiling double glazing is set at the end of a flat acre of expansive lawns and native landscape, with expansive views of the rural surrounds, bird life and the majestic Huon River. The home’s main construction type is recycled solid bricks from early 1900’s warehouses across Melbourne.
The house has been designed by the owners Tony and Angela who have a passion for design, architecture and landscaping, and built in 2009. The home has open spaces with views all around, is light and airy and has a well-designed kitchen featuring stone bench tops, dish draw dishwasher and 900mm induction cooking.
There are no steps inside the home, and just one small step at the entrance to get into the home from the entrance. There are large ironbark decks from the lounge, master bedroom and kitchen - all with great views, including river.
The spacious master bedroom has a separate/dedicated walk in robe and has a bathroom with two separate basins plus fantastic views
The two dining spaces cater for up to twelve dinner guests, and a kitchen courtyard offers fresh herbs and occasional veggies. There is plenty of comfortable seating to relax in the spacious living areas. Bedrooms have 100 NZ pure wool carpets and with porcelain tiles in remaining living zones. Both bathrooms feature screenless showers with large-format overhead shower heads. Warm passive solar design is backed up with heating and air conditioning.
River access at the end of the street offers fishing near the freshwater/estuarine boundary.
A perfect, luxurious, private yet centrally located property in the Huon Valley to explore the Huon and south-west region, and easy commuting distance to Hobart.
There are plenty of books, board games and DVDs, as well as free-to-air tv and a radio check out the quirky Huon FM @ 95.3.
