Local Tasmanian artwork and stylish antique Tasmanian hardwood furniture decorate this gorgeous home, complementing the original features of the house including ornate ceiling moulds, convict-built fireplaces, and, of course, the glorious heritage sandstone and wrought iron lacework exterior.
The covered front veranda with comfy wicker chairs is a fabulous spot to enjoy a glass of wine or cup of tea while enjoying the beautiful city and river views.
West Nest's living room features a huge comfy lounge, the perfect place to curl up on to enjoy the smart tv and Netflix. Alternatively you can choose from a great selection of books and magazines to while away a lazy hour or two.
West Nest features 3 gorgeous bedrooms two with queen beds and one with singles which can be converted to a King bed on request. Electric blankets are provided to ensure you feel snug all year round, with heating available to all areas of the house including the hallway. Professional cleaning and linen services are utilised to ensure a high standard is maintained throughout.
The heritage bathroom features Tasmanian hardwood cabinetry, a great copper shower over bath, quality toiletries and towels, a washer/dryer machine and hairdryer. The intricate pressed flower frosted glass sash windows and whitewashed sandstone walls provide a beautiful period tone to this functional space.
The bright kitchen is fully equipped with full size fridge, microwave and quality dinnerware and appliances. Tea and plunger coffee are supplied. On those sunny mornings why not step straight from the kitchen out to your own private courtyard complete with outdoor setting and BBQ? The convict built sandstone wall and 'kitchen garden' make this a cosy space for warm summer morning breakfasts or an evening BBQ with family and friends.
Children are catered for with portacot, high chair and quality wooden toys, puzzles, games and books.
Guests will enjoy the close proximity to the city. A good option is to meander through the historic back streets via one of the local award winning cafes down to the waterfront and then take an uber or taxi home.
Free parking is available 24/7 outside the property. We also have one off street parking space available which is accessed via a rear laneway.
Hobart airport is located approximately 20-25 minute drive from West Nest.
Guests can access all areas of the main house and rear carport. There is a studio and small shed at the rear of the property which are not accessible to guests.
INTERACTION WITH GUESTS
We provide an email prior to arrival with instructions for the key lock box and other information about the property. We will also be available by mobile phone, email and text if any assistance is required.
A guest manual is also available at the property to provide you with information about the property, its history, as well as local knowledge about places to eat, drink and visit during your stay.
