sandtemple is a shack on the dunes of Cremorne spit with absolute beachfront to Cremorne beach and also 100 waterfront access to Pipeclay Lagoon and only 25 minutes from the centre of Hobart. Traditional vertical board outside with the style of an architect designed and inspired interior fit out. Comprehensive renovation completed in February 2014 which includes decks on 3 sides, outdoor hot and cold shower and large BBQ for sunny meals on the stunning raised deck area.

Completely new internal renovation includes new kitchen and beautiful bathroom. Main living space easily dividable via glass sliding screens to form separate rooms if privacy is required or to make the space more cosy on cold winter nights. The internal layout is fully open planned. There is a permanent queen sized bed and a permanent single bed. Both can be screened from the main living area. Sofa bed is easy to make up and comfortable and can sleep 2. Lie in the luxurious bed with memory foam topper, silky sheets and watch the sun rise across the bay through the Eastern windows. Look up and see the stars through the double glazed window above the bed and sleep to the gentle sounds of the waves on the beach, only 15 metres from your door. Relax on the day bed with views to the west over Pipeclay Lagoon to Mt Wellington. To the east you can dream away the hours birdwatching or checking the activity of the boats as they come and go from the lagoon to fish the abundant waters of Frederick Henry Bay.

After a day of enjoying the perfect peace of the sandtemple watch the sun set with a glass of wine on the Western deck. Once you arrive you will find it hard to leave.

It is the closest experience to being on a boat you can have on land - water on all sides, the peace and tranquility that only being on the water brings.

Ideal romantic getaway for couples or a peaceful haven for rejuvenation.

sandtemple comes with luxury towels, fine linen, knee rugs and blankets for outdoors and a bookshelf filled with nautical themed books that the owners have collected over the years. It has has a fully equipped kitchen that includes high quality crockery, cutlery and glass ware. It has a high quality and sharp kitchen knife. The pantry is stocked with basics that guests are welcome to use. This includes flour, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, condiments and a spice box with an array of indian spices. There is a stovetop coffee pot and grinder available for use. Coffee and tea bags are provided.

The comfortable sofa also becomes a bed for extra guests however please be aware that this is a very small space and may not be suitable for anything more than 1 couple or a small family.

All windows are double glazed to keep you warm in winter and have either blinds or curtains to block out light or heat. Every window in the house has fly screens.

The beautiful bathroom has a washing machine and laundry tub and includes detergent for your use. There are 2 large beach towels for swimming days.

There is even a yoga mat.

TV and DVD player are available if you must tear yourself away from the view.

There is no internet connection as your holiday at sandtemple is about getting away from the grind of daily life and connecting with a simple beach experience rather than the internet. That said Telstra has great coverage at sandtemple.

sandtemple is set on a large bush beach block and has ample car parking and a security gate that affords absolute privacy.

Allow this incredible place to take you back to childhood holidays without compromising modern comforts

sandtemple is right on Cremorne beach which is an ideal safe, swimming beach. It is popular with locals as it is only 25 minutes from Hobart. It is a haven for kayakers, windsurfers, boaters and fishermen and kite surfers. Pipeclay Lagoon that borders the western edge of the block is a great place for fishing, boating and all water sports.

The beach and lagoon make for great walking and birdwatching. You can fish and swim from the beach or the lagoon depending on the wind and tide.

Cremorne is close enough to Hobart to drive to the city to go to one of the many fabulous restaurants or to take a trip to MONA.It is less than 30 minutes to the GPO in central Hobart. There is a great gourmet shop with a wonderful deli containing everything you could need for a comfortable stay only 10 minutes away.

Airport is 25 minutes away.

Clifton, a popular surf beach is a 5 minute drive away.

It is close to the East Coast and the Tasman Peninsula making it an ideal place to explore southern Tasmania from.

It is close to everything but feels a million miles away in spirit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful We absolutely loved our stay at the Sand Temple, it really is as the pictures show, follow the sun around the decks, walk on the beach, throw a line in off the jetty, cook an amazing King Island steak on the BBQ, wake up the sound of waves and go to sleep to the sound of waves, Julie the property manager was very helpful, the house was immaculate and had every convenience you need.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great property, very clean, owner super We stayed here in early January 2017 (two adults and three kids aged 8,11,14). The property was excellent, better than described with pretty much everything you could want. The location is about 30 minutes from the Hobart CBD and less from the airport. Very neat and tidy. Cremorne beach is fantastic. Super clean, great white sand and shallow with very minimal waves even when the weather gets rough. The bay is spectacular even on cloudy days. From the back of the house you can see Pipeclay lagoon and Mt Wellington in the distance. The water is literally less than 60 metres form the house front and back. The beach house has decks on three sides making it easy enough to avoid the breeze which comes up most days at some point. For those keen on fitness a lap from the boat ramp to the end of the beach and back is about 2.5km. Great place for the kids to play around in the sane dunes or go paddling in the water. Remember this is Tassie so if you do want to go for an extended dip, bring your wet suit and the UV is a killer so use tonnes of sun screen. Oh and of course a warm jacket at any time of the year. The internal design with sliding glass walls works well and it genuinely is one of the best places I have stayed in many years, although if you want lots of space keep in mind this is a small beach house and not some mega mansion. Basically it is the perfect place to kick back and read a book and go for a stroll on the beach or head into Hobart with a short drive. Probably the only drawback I can think of is it would cost a bit in a cab if you weren't driving and had a few drinks in town and had to head home. Cremorne itself is also basically a collection of houses so you do need to drive to shops and cafes. But hey, if you want to get away from it all and still be close to Hobart, you really won't do better than here. Fully recommend it.
