The O Retreat is designed by architec David Travalia, used all rare Tasmanian wood with high ceiling glass windows for the maximize view and sunlight, set on on a 25 Acres private land on a hilltop in Middleton, surrounded by ocean,forest, islands and many Tasmanian wildlifes with view across the D'Entrecasteaux Channel to Bruny Island. We understand your needs to get away from the day to day busy city life, submerged into the real relaxation and indulgence for your wellbeing, with magnificent ocean and forest view, crystal clear air and purest water, secluded architectural wooden house with everything you need for a short holiday stay to long term rejuvenation.
The retreat specialized in offer guided yoga session and meditation, energy healing and spa activities include Ayurveda oil massage and deep cleansing/recharge spa session. It's all depends on your needs to choose from the services. You can just simply enjoy the beautiful soundings and the facilities in the house while you exploring the southern Tasmania.
This beautiful hill top wooden house is hand crafted by local craftsmen with top quality Tasmanian timber such as Huon pine, celery top ,black wood and Myrtle. The retreat is like a live museum for typical Tasmanian timber species. The architect very smartly separate the different function areas with bi-level design according to how the hill lies, open design for living, yoga and kitchen areas, high ceiling plus maximize use of double glazed windows to best appreciate the view and all year round sun. Adding to the indoor space, the house has 2 adjoining viewing deck and 2 balconies for appreciate the view, sun baking, enjoy tea or a glass of wine with the loved one or simplely just enjoy breath taking view and wild animals chatting nearby.
Your private living area provide comfy sofa and chaise lounge, TV with DVD player, Blue tooth speakers, a floor to ceiling book shelf full of interesting books and two beautiful wood fireplaces. The open plan modern kitchen is fully equipped with high quality appliances plus all you need to cook up a storm while enjoy picturesque views and glass of Tassie wine.
The Retreat has 4 bedrooms, 250 square meters in size,, can offer stay for 9 adults. The room rate is include continental breakfast, tea/coffee and snacks, basic cooking ingredients such as cooking oil, seasoning, rice/pasta/noodles plus a range of spices. The gourmet meal packs, wine and cheese, local organic veges and fruits on a supermarket price for purchase as a meal option.The 4 bed rooms are: one master bedroom with ensuite and private balcony, one sunny ocean view queen bedroom, one ocean and bush land view twins bedroom and a family room with a double bed and single bed.
The Basic rate $380 is for 4 person stay, for extra person stay in the other room is $50 per night per person. please contact us before to arrange it. Or you can choose the total number of people will stay, website will calculate the cost automatically.
We are an adult accommodation but do welcome kids younger than 2years old (Sorry, no baby's cot provided at the moment) or older than 12 years old. (No extra bed service for all the rooms)

I will either be talking to you in the phone or be there physically to assist any of your needs straight away. Nickie will love to give you a lots of tips about the area or have some nice chat over cuppa if you like.
Middleton is a quiet rural town with lots of views of the sea and the lovely green fields that only the Huon can provide. Its on the D'Entrecasteaux Channel about 50 km (45 mins drive) south of Hobart, is the perfect location to start your Southern Tasmanian experience.
The area has an abundance of Wildlife, Orchards, Vineyards, Restaurants, Cafes, Cheeseries and local stores. Middleton itself has a local store, a boat ramp and beach, with a children's play area. The Channel has an abundance of fish, with a good supply of Flathead!
One day you will be delighted with the antics of a pod of dolphins as they leaped and played in the sparkling waters. Another day, when it rains, you will be treated to the sight of wooded hills wreathed in mist, and that's when you can played cards and other games. You will be looking forward to your next visit to Middleton.
The area's big event is Middleton Country Fair, held annually on the first Saturday in February and on your way down the channel in the weeks running up to the fair you will become aware of Scarecrows on fences, in paddocks and up trees. These are no ordinary scarecrows, they are humorously attired and their job is not to scare crows but rather to win a competition, the famous Middleton Country Fair Scarecrow Competition. Each year around 2,000 people attend with over 70 stalls with crafts, tasty foods, plants, animal displays, trade displays, pony rides, sheep shearing, bands, performers, vintage, veteran and classic cars collection, raffles, kid's games.

No microwave or any harsh chemical product used in the house as we try to avoid the negative energy in the environment. TV only used for watch movie with DVD player or your own computer/Ipad.
