Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning location, comfortable accommodation Our two night stay with 4 adults was perfect. (It would equally suit a family with children) It's worth setting the alarm to see the sunrise over the ocean. I missed the sunrise on the second morning but was equally happy with golden morning light which was streaming in and filling the living area. The slightly worn floor boards add character, and the house was clean and comfortable. We plan to go back !

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dirty and Unhygenic Bill's Beach House is without doubt the worst property I've ever stayed in and I've stayed in many holiday houses and B&B's around the world. The location is superb right on the beach, but that's the only positive I can say about it.They claim it is a 50's beach house. Yes, it is, but still with original 50's discomfort. The timber floors were in desperate need of sanding and refinishing. The mattresses were cheap, old and worn and mine had a hole in it, as if it had been chewed by a rat at some stage. The window frames were covered in mould, the window sills and venetian blinds were dusty. But worst of all, guests have to take their own linen (they claim to offer a linen rental service on the site, but just as well I contacted the owner to discover they no longer do that.) The problem with holiday houses that don't come with linen provided (and one would think at $250/night they would provide the most luxurious of linens!) is that people don't bring sheets and therefore sleep on the mattress protector. Worse, the pillows were filthy, truly filthy and unhygienic! Fortunately we had taken our own pillows and extra sheets to cover the filth. I would have emailed the owner to tell him it was unsuitable but the house didn't provide internet. Again, because there was no internet, I couldn't search to find more suitable accommodation. As I'm not from the area, I didn't really know what to do to find anything else and decided to lump it as we were so exhausted and needed down time. Also, had I contacted the owner, he may well have refused to give me a refund, meaning we'd be out of pocket twice. We are not wealthy people, but were hoping to have a real getaway from life's stresses after an horrific year. Instead we got a very sub-par holiday home that felt dirty and unhygenic. This house isn't even worth $100/night.
