The Ultimate Games Room House
Freshly renovated and loaded with furniture from Bali in December 2015 we are now ready for guests!. Having owned and operated ‘The Metal House’ which is also in Blairgowrie on stayz for 4 years now we have picked up a thing or two about what makes for a good holiday rental house. Starting this house from scratch has been an opportunity for us to put all that knowledge into practice.
Communal spaces are key for a holiday house to work. Next to the upstairs living room is a 12 seat dining table that can stretch to 14 with 2 chairs bought in from the outside setting. On the deck we have placed a Balinese 10 seat table and chair setting made from recycled boat timber next to a i meter high 200kg Buddha to keep the mood calm and relaxed! We also strongly recommend dragging the beanbags from the downstairs living room up on to the deck on warm nights.
There are 3 bedrooms upstairs all with queen beds in them as well as built in robes. Also upstairs is a bathroom & toilet and the open plan kitchen / lounge / dining area that flows out on to the huge deck through 4 double doors.
Downstairs is a very large bedroom with 3 single bunks and 2 trundles with 3 French doors opening out into a small courtyard. There is another shower and toilet, a laundry (brand new washer & drier) and a large living space with a 6 seater couch and a full HD home cinema projector connected to Foxtel’s premium package (some 90 channels). The screen size is a bit over 150 inches – huge and the picture is EPIC!! Sound comes from a Sony soundbar and woofer.
Lastly downstairs is the games room. We have a ping pong table, a 7 foot long air hockey table, a home gym machine and 2 race car simulators connected to an xbox one and a 55 inch full HD TV. The Xbox is running Forza 6, Microsoft’s latest race car simulator game so you can race against each other at Bathurst, Daytona or dozens of other tracks in dozens of different cars. It’s a lot of fun!! The games room TV is also connected to Foxtel through it’s own box. Also recently fitted to the games room by popular request is a funky retro style bar fridge (-:
Outside there is a huge front yards that is great for cricket, and to the back a small open break out area perched up the hill overlooking the house that is a great spot if you are looking for some peace and quiet.
There is split system cooling and central heating as well as ceiling fans in all upstairs bedrooms and 2 large pedestal fans in the downstairs bedroom. There is also an open fire place upstairs with a large TV above it (also Foxtel connected)
We pride ourselves on providing really memorable holidays for guests staying in our houses.
