Although golf is the first thing that comes to mind at Cape Schanck, the Mornington Peninsula offers a wide range of tourist and recreational activities.
The charming township of Flinders, 10 minutes away, boasts restaurants, coffee shops, a hotel, bakery plus antique stores and galleries, Red Hill is a picturesque 15 minute drive away and Rosebud less than 10 minute distance away.
In the surrounding area are several acclaimed wineries, many with fine dining and bistro facilities, along with tasting and cellar door sales. For the more energetic, there is access to horse riding facilities, bay beaches, surfing and an extensive variety of bushwalking tracks. In addition, the towns of Balnarring and Red Hill run country markets on a monthly basis as well as the excellent local Boneo market 5 minutes away. Another popular attraction is the Peninsula Hot Springs located conveniently in Rye but booking in advance is highly recommended.
And for something quite different for the younger family members, Dromana has a "Trebble Screen" Drive-in and a visit could be made to the Ashcombe or Enchanted Mazes.
