The name is drawn from the “The Golden Sands of Keela-Wee”, a beautiful beach that is half sand and half gold with a mystical house perched between a mountain range and the sea found in the comic “The Phantom”.

Coronet Bay is a town located 114 km south-east of Melbourne on the eastern shore of Western Port Bay. The town serves as a holiday destination with a focus on recreational fishing. A boat ramp is available in the neighbouring town of Corinella, which is also a popular spot for fishing off the pier. Smaller vessels can be launched at the Coronet Bay foreshore just 500 metres down the road from Keela-Wee. The foreshore also has electric BBQs, an art sculpture display based on local stories and events map of stories available from the Coronet Bay General Store and a children’s playground with spectacular water views and toilet facilities.
With the local council and community holding several family friendly events at the beach throughout the year, there are things to do without having to travel far. The house is approximately 15 minutes drive to San Remo which is the gateway to Phillip Island for the range of sightseeing and activities that are also available there.
