Standard holiday rental, sleeps 7, is the top floor of a two storey beach house. No one else will be there during your stay, you'll have the place to yourselves. For larger groups, or if you just want a bit more room to spread out, the bottom floor is also available for let, With an additional two bedrooms and its own bathroom and kitchen it takes the accomodation from 7 people to 12. Pets are welcome provided they are well mannered, no digging or excessive barking, and are welcome inside once they are dry and sand free, and as long as they stay off of the furniture. Please clean up any poop before you go. There are dog bowls, balls, dog towels etc in the laundry.
Indented Head is a dog friendly beach, although you do need to keep an eye on the dogs when the Red Capped Plovers are nesting.
The Bellarine has plenty something for everyone, bird life, bike paths, food, wine, beaches, fishing, diving, surf. Or you can settle down at Grassy Point with a good book and great views.
With a kid and dog friendly beach at the end of the road you may not want to stray far. You can fish, boat, swim, walk, bike, bird watch from the end of the road. There are several boat ramps close by, and plenty of room for the boat in the drive. The wreck of the Ozone is up the beach a bit, just offshore, for easy snorkelling.
Portarlington is a short drive, easy bike or leisurely stroll away. The bus runs from the end of the road if you don't feel like walking back Fresh seafood from the end of the jetty, restaurants, bakeries, cafes and beautiful views across the bay to Melbourne and the You Yangs. Portarlington is a lovely place to while away a few hours, or a day.
St Leonards is a similar distance the other way, with more cafes, a beer garden with great views, playgrounds and Edwards Point Nature Reserve. Edwards Point has some nice walks and great bird watching. At the right time of year you might even see the critically endangered orange bellied parrot, or swans, pelicans, terns, curlews, wrens, plovers and more.
Queenscliffe ferry, Ocean Grove surf and Geelong waterfront are all 30 minutes away. Or the new Portarlington to Docklands ferry can have in the big smoke in 90 minutes, without all the hassle of driving.
